    If Reiza have been notably quiet of late, then let’s take that as a good sign … after all, the radio silence that we presently, if not patiently, endure provides Reiza with fewer distractions during crunch time.

    Iirc the lap record at Daytona, I think it was Oliver Jarvis' time in the Mazda, was beaten by LMDh in the very first outing.

    I do also think that dev updates will drop first, then V1.6

    No it was not. Acura set poll in 2023 with a 1:34.031. Jarvis record was a 1:33.685. Pipo Derani beat that record with a 1:32.656 this last year, but that one lap doesn't refute my point that DPi overall was quicker at most tracks and set faster race pace. Last year's fastest lap was a 1:35:556. The year Jarvis set the record the fastest lap was a 1:34.504. The fastest lap from last year's Rolex would have been 11th fastest in 2019. DPi have set faster race laps than LMDh every year from 2019-2022. They also didn't run a traditional qualifying for the Rolex 24 in 2021 or 2022 where their fastest laps in 2022 were 1:33.724. The top 5 DPi that year registered their fastest lap under 1:34. The two "slowest" DPi that year were 1:34.0 and 1:34.1.

    Had DPi run a traditional qualifying in 2022 I don't think it's unreasonable to think they'd have been in the 1:32's if not knocking on the door of 1:31's.

    ELMS this last year ran LMP2s at 930kg and 580hp, not even the 603hp they used to run at. Look at the results and tell me that Hypercar/LMDh are faster.

    Spa Qualifying/Race
    LMP2: 2'01.253/2'01.257
    Hypercar/LMDh: 2'03.107/2'06.459

    as said why are you pressing F5 for the release of 1.6, when the dev blog will come first. Maybe get excited after that drops.

    is the steering ratio real in ams2 gt3 and lmp? I meant they actually only drive one steering wheel ratio

    Looks like I did not remember correctly. I'm not questioning the fact that DPi was faster on most tracks. The new formula was never meant to beat classes it was going to replace. Cost reduction and manufacturers involvement was the goal, and it looks like they succeeded.

    Many people think LMH/LMDh are super high downforce prototypes, but drivers actually say they're closer to GT's. They only produce 1/3 of the downforce LMP1 produced. Would love to see them lose some weight and get below 1000kg tbh.

    Can´t say if it´s realistic or not (I´d assume it´s adjustable if rules allow it) but in games you need to have a setting for steering ratio or lock in one way or another to accommodate the wide variety of rim sizes people use. There´s couple different ways of doing it, Nils gave a pretty easily digestible explanation of the matter here

    So I started playing AMS2 since January this year and have admired it so much. But there is something unique I have been through with this game and I also have played Rfactor, Project Cars, R3E, Dirt Rally and Assetto Corsa + Competizione. In AMS2 I have always been able to enjoy the driving and found it to be the easiest to get into even with low ABS as the only assist I use. And this 1.6 looks like the biggest thing to ever get brought into the game and I do expect it to change everything about AMS2. But one thing that worries me is, how difficult will it be to learn the new driving model? I so hope it wont be like Project Cars 2 which was beyond belief tough to learn. I know this can sound strange to debate but am a rusty swedish lad who has lots of passion for sim racing!

    Makes sense - after recently driving the McLaren F1 GTR and Porsche 963 in succession I was struck how much LMDH feels like a modernized GT1 more than 2010s prototypes. Sketchy under braking and not so glued to the ground.

    I'm finding it more intuitive - it still have that organic, real feeling but it feels to my untrained eye like a real car driving. Bear in mind that I'm not a pro driver so I'm not fishing for those hundredths, tenths is my optimistic territory :D

    To me, its way more important to not spin out and being more under control. It is so fun and easy to drive the old school cars in this game!

    I think it's easier to keep them under control when not pushing them too much, it's definitely (at least for me) easier to recover earlier and avoid spin, but again - given my laptimes I'm definitely not driving at the limit.
    Tire management feels like it's more impactful too, so do a push lap and next will be a struggle. Not to mention cool tires when leaving the pits and there are no blankets (LMDH - I'm looking at you!) when the car doesn't turn or it's super easy to lock up, but once the temperatures are up the grip appears. That aspect feels more prominent in 1.6. So that is probably something to adjust more - be careful on the outlap for sure.
    First corners online will be amazing to watch though :whistle:

    I'm looking forward to that. I find the process of heating the tyres up and picking up pace really fun.

    I'm abt 190 cm tall, 90kg. Too old now, but I was probably too tall to be a RL race driver. Dream dashed early.

    How do the new rain physics compete with the iRacing rain model? Asking club members here.
    In 1.5 it just feels like there is -x% grip to dry, whilst in iRacing you have to search the grip every lap again, and it can change from lap to lap as well. Curbs are a no go etc...
    I really hope 1.6 comes close to this!

    Something today would be nice. Just an update from Simioni on where we are. Next weekend would be amazing for a release especially due to all the LFM hype right now.

    If you can drive one well made sim, you can drive them all, its just a matter of finding the limits and quirks of each, switching sim is almost the same as switching to a different class of car within the same sim. I don't think 1.6 will be as drastic as switching sim so I would have thought within a few laps you will be 98% up to speed. It may take longer depending how reliant you are to abusing 1.5s 'quirks' and how much 1.6 fixes them.
