Each update of AMS 2, since initial release, has made it more realistic. That means you need to think and learn and adapt less to "video game" inputs and behaviours.

In my opinion, the change from 1.5 to 1.6 is the largest incremental move towards realism yet. There will be nothing to re-learn, just much to enjoy as each vehicle responds more intuitively and naturally. That means the differences in the vehicles are more vivid. Their changing states from cold to warm to overheated are more vivid. The handling and braking are more authentic. I rarely have to think about AMS 2 being a sim now...just drive it as I would the real thing and expect the same rewards and punishments based on my skill level and attention span...not whether I can twitch memorize certain manoeuvres that make the cars go fast.

I am sure there will be more physics-related improvements in the future, but they will be marginal. We have finally arrived with 1.6.

    1000% agree with you!!!
I think I've said this in here before. Racing (imo) is about getting the most out of yourself and the car in any given conditions. If I change software and it's a different feel from ams2 to ams to rfactor etc it's about me then understanding and finding the limits of each car and being adaptable. Realism in a simulated environment will always be a pipe dream. If your serious about driving and racing though learn to be adaptable.

I'll install the game and try it for a few days. I've never played it but it seems their focus is DTM, ADAC and German tracks. Maybe I'll buy the Starter Pack and that's it. The rest of my money is already reserved for the 3 AMS2 DLCs and ETS2 Greece.
Also, many mods from Race Sim Studio are on sale. I'm particularly interested on their 1970 F1.

I just picked up the MP-H Protech P96 V8. Can't go wrong with any of the RSS cars. Sale is on until December 2nd.

    Off topic :
For 1.6, a normal style blog update for the tracks and a video for everything else (indepth changes to physics, shaders, tires, UI) would be the best. Tracks are tracks but the content in the "everything else" might be a lot for some people to read through when it comes out. Plus its easier to watch and share a 7 - 10 minute dev video (like the 1.4 video on steam) with someone explaining something to you than trying to read and understand a multi page dev post (not me tho, idm either)

Back on topic (kinda), I hope for there is a car/class filter for the multiplayer sessions present in the update. Would make it very easy to find somewhere to race. Sometimes going into the multiplayer. especially on weekends and seeing GT cars galore can be depressing :)

I bought the full pack with black friday offer yesterday. When they announced the DTM 1995, I knew I couldnt turn them down anymore. They got all kinds of tracks other sims dont have.

Can you verify, that the all the DTM 95 and 2024 cars are included in the full pack? I'm hesitant to buy because I only found the 95 Mercedes in the car preview of the pack.

It contains all content released up to the point of purchase except Mclaren 720 gt3 evo, Ferrari 296 GT3 and Huracan GT3 evo2 - it says so with small print at the pack.

Thing to remember it won't include any future content, so the upcoming Super Tourers pack coming on 10th of december won't be included in purchase made today (they actually put out dates - crazy, I know :D )

It's okish deal. Nothing even close to AMS2 when it comes to $$$ to content ratio, but then literally nothing on the market does. AMS2 is just in league of it's own

    Sorry for being (also) off-topic:
    Store - RaceRoom Racing Experience
I spotted Mercedes, Opel and Alfa (DTM 1995).
It says on the banner: "Ferrari 296 GT3, Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2 and McLaren 720S GT3 Evo not included".

Edit: Got ninja'd - again.

I think Reiza has hurt itself with the hype it has generated. It would have been enough to have thrown the update into the public consciousness a few weeks before its actual release.

Thank you guys for clearing that up. I'm still on the fence, because as you say, it's not cheap and I'm mainly interested in the DTM packs and some of the tracks that are not in AMS2. But enough with the off-topic. Hopefully we haven't too much longer to wait for 1.6. When that's out, I doubt i will drive much in Raceroom anyway. ;)

I think people got unnecessarily over-hyped like they did with CP2077. If Reiza would stay quiet for all that time people would post "dead game" memes and accuse Reiza for a cash grab and abandoning the title.
Doomed either way, at least they kept people in the loop about the plans/scope.

If the tyre model is as good as people are saying (I have no reason to doubt), perhaps the next iteration of physics model could put the spotlight on collisions.
Even on v1.5, that's one of the most distrating component for me (read: unrealist, immersion breaker). There's a tendency for cars to jump into the air but stay put (particularly on perpendicular collisions).

I mean we are right now in yet another ghosting situation.

I love Reiza but putting the blame for mixed emotions right now at anyone other than Reiza themselves is just unreasonable

Also CP2077 was straight up false advertising and reviews manipulation. There was nothing to blame the audience for either

I don't agree. Simulators are supposed to simulate something (is this case, a car racing environment). The evolution over the years (particularly AMS2!!) shows it's just a matter of keep walking in the right direction (like ASM2 is been since day 1).
The wrong direction is "it is what is it" or "it's just a game, play it!", that's not conductive to a better tomorrow.
