Exactly if remember some words from the dev (not 100% words for words)
-The game will feel looks and sound better
    -AMS2 will finally show excellence
-Some others would have called this AMS3
-We are doing in x month others would've take longer

+ All the gap in time between what Reiza announce and the reality

You can't say that the fault is 100% on the players . And this is coming from people that have acces to the backstage since many month have the update. The normal players had the last update 7 month ago

Yeah, they bumped up the price of the Premium pack by 30% a month ago but still couldn´t add the Ferrari or the last two Gt3s, which is a shame.

These are the only things that are not included:

All other cars and tracks are included.

Yup, a month or two over target would have been fine and within Reiza business as usual, but the longer it goes on, the more expectation builds and inevitably some people will be disappointed. There is also the reality that there are likely to be more than a few game breaking bugs in there, not to mention the long standing ones and that will take some more time to iron out when the game goes live to a bigger audience. It´s quite amazing that a dead game like RRE has actually come out of its coma and improved drastically in all areas during AMS2´s stagnant period, at least for non beta users.

I don't think there's one example. It's a combination of things, but the main problem with overhyping is not praising things but expectations in people's head. Hype train threads and these kind of things are all warranted, the update is great, fantastic content worth hundreds of hours of entertainment is coming, various improvements to different things, MP will get a boost with LFM and JustRace etc. so there's lots of things to look forward to, but If people start expecting things that will not be in the update they're going to be disappointed.

AMS2 is not going to feel like another game, V1.6 does not transform AMS2 into something else, and don't forget this isn't the final update, development certainly will continue, it's all still WIP.
It'll look better UI wise and graphics have improved as well, but it'll feel the same. Some cars will have improved in your opinion, and some maybe not. Overall imo handling and physics are pretty solid, but there are also a few things I personally liked more before.
I honestly think that GTE e.g. are far better in AMS2 now than say in LMU, at least I prefer AMS2 by far, not only sound wise. That's very subjective ofc, you might feel completely different about things.

If you want some advice, clear your mind, forget everything you read the past months and weeks and download the update with an open mind. I wrote this before, read through the complete changelog and you'll know what to try first and in the coming hours.

For the 30 euros extra they started charging a month back, I don´t think it is unreasonable to include those 3 cars too, especially as the 296 is in the Gt3 pack, The hack is to wait till they all become Gt3s and buy that pack and it will cost next to nothing so really they are not gaining anything by squeezing people already paying 130 euros RRP.

My final price for the whole pack was 82 euros at 2024 black friday.

Sorry for the offtopic, guys, but we are all racing nuts here. No major harm done, I think.

And it would have cost 50 euros using VRP in 2023, last time it was on sale at the old RRP an using vrp, cos guess what, they also raised the cost of buying vrp to double dip! It´s true that was almost too cheap as it had been the same price all along with much more content but it´s also true that 2024 has seen prices of DLC tick up across the board, with the MSG titles and RRE being the chief culprits. AMS2 we can´t judge since they haven´t actually released DLCs this year but when the baseline rises they all do and finally this will cannibalise sales as people will restrict themselves to less games or just the base content, I guess.

I'm not saying it's 100% on the players, there are things Reiza could have done better, but we all know there are no separate external comms department, so the comms are done by the dev team themselves.

It is on people though to believe blindly everything that came out, especially around the timescales. Delays were in pretty much every single release. So I'm struggling to understand why the expectations are different this time. And it was announced that this will take longer.

I get it that it's easier for me since I can see the changes earlier, but that doesn't mean that everyone not in beta must be on the completely opposite end of the spectrum.

I noticed an upshift animation in the lambo SC63 video. Nice little touch, I would love also a DRS/KERS animation.. Not essential of course, but it would add a bit of immersion

The expectations are diffrent this time, because theres a lot of new ppl like myself that just found out about ams2 recently, and these ppl are most likely not happy with the way this is treated.
im frustrated too, but i stopped commenting in this forum and took the chance for raceroom, cause its free for a certain time

Personally i started AMS 2 with the realese of formula hitech so wasn't aware of this issue.

The problem isn't about the lack of marketing departement but the management of the project.

This lead to a expectation of time needed to devlop features but they are at least 2x longer.

Hard to be on your "spectrum" side as we have for this 7 month delay only seen promises ( i trust them for the quality) and no concrete things for us

Maybe its time for a "I am not satisfied" thread, where all the complaining can be moved? I know you guys are passionate about simracing, but honestly, I'm not interested in a 205th rehash of the same argument. Yes, maybe you are new here, but is it really a me provlem or a you problem? Old threads exist to read.

Lets have a dedicated thread for whining where people can go around in circles arguing the alsame old thing for 1000 times.

I get your frustration, but I think discussions like these can also highlight some important points about where people stand with different sims. It’s not just complaining for the sake of it—sometimes it's about sharing perspectives, especially as things evolve. For instance, Raceroom is a great example of a sim that’s really turned things around lately. Their updates, like the most current Nordschleife arguably the most uptodate version across all simulators and the upcoming Monza layout with the modern T1, show they're actively listening and improving.

What’s really interesting is how Raceroom, which was nearly a dead game just a few months ago, now has almost double the player base of AMS2. Many players, myself included, are gravitating towards Raceroom while waiting for the AMS2 1.6 update. This shift says a lot about Raceroom’s recent efforts to stay relevant, from strong communication like their recent Gridtalk on YouTube to exciting updates like Super Touring launching on December 10th. Additionally, GT3 cars are coming to LMU soon, not to mention the big iRacing update on the horizon and, of course, Assetto Corsa EVO arriving in January.

Maybe instead of a "whining thread," we could focus on constructive discussions venting and sharing what keeps us engaged with these sims. Keeps the passion productive, right?

EDIT: I really enjoy AMS2 and genuinely wish it success with the 1.6 update. I hope they time its release well to make the most of it.

"almost double the player base of AMS2" ... yeah here you see the dwindling AMS2 player base

    AMS2 Playerbase.PNG

vs almost double that amount on this thriving R3E (that is btw free right now)

    R3E Playerbase.PNG

I get being a little annoyed with how things have gone, but do we really have to go full Trump with facts?

AMS2’s 24h peak is 922, RRE’s is 1308. That’s not double and it’s only due to it being completely free for 2 weeks. They do it a lot and then the players go down to lower than AMS2

Yea. Accepting it and realising other people have different opinions. You choose who you communicate with and what you read.
