Graining is currently disabled as a whole, but it's likely that it will be reintroduced at some point (maybe with 1.7).

For what is worth, if I let go of the wheel in Ams2 or AC, depending on the car I get some oscilations aswell, seems to be something with heavy vibrations in the center+the way Moza does things, doesn't really bother me and I preffer having them over enabling settings like natural intertia to reduce them completely.

Will the upcoming 1.6 patch include a fix for the issue with quad monitor setups? At the moment, the game doesn’t launch in Triple Screen mode if a fourth monitor is connected.

Also, just a fun thought: could the patch release be timed with the new Netflix series about Senna this Friday? I know, a bit of a stretch, but it would be a cool coincidence!

    Looking forward to the update!

I'm sure the patch will be released as soon as Reiza can make it release-worthy, I'm sure there's been a few 'ideal release windows' tied to real life events (especially Petit Le Mans) that would have been nice. Still, I'd be very happy to see it Friday!

Never even heard of a quad-monitor setup, do you have a pic (I'm intrigued how they're arranged)? No worries if not.

Thanks for your reply! The quad-monitor setup is actually just a regular Triple Monitor setup with a fourth monitor positioned above. The issue is that if the fourth monitor is active when starting AMS2, the game doesn’t enable Triple Screen mode.

To make it work, I have to disconnect the fourth monitor, start the game with the three monitors, and then reconnect the fourth one afterwards. It’s a known issue in AMS2, but hopefully, it gets resolved in a future patch!

Didn't even realize Netflix was making a Senna series, appreciate the heads up! I wouldn't hold your breath on the quad monitor fix. Seems Madness has a lot of little quirks that continue to slip through the cracks given the focus on the core stuff like content and underlying simulation. Another annoying one is the limited amount of inputs AMS2 will detect. Have a handful of wheels where certain inputs are not recognized and cannot be assigned in the menu...been like that since early access and don't expect that it will change any time soon. Here's to hoping though!

I've been thinking the same about 1.6 being such an undertaking with physics, tires, AI and balancing all of it that should it land in a place they feel content with, future updates may roll out quicker addressing less intensive quality of life features that can be applied universally, not needing to be dialed in for every combination of car on every combination of track. Here's to hoping 1.6 is the solid foundation we hope it is and that focus can shift to the other important stuff.

If you have a R5 go into the Pithouse and calibrate the wheel. The calibration is in reset and recovery I think. My R5 was awful until I recalibrated. Now it's great although the junior still did shake whilst parked up. Once moving I can let go of the wheel though.

My theme is to use "neutral," linear, baseline, call it whatever you will, settings to the maximum extent possible. It is all these wheelbase settings that are the source of most problems.

Use default for everything and let the in-built FFB or even the custom FFB files work properly. None of them are built for peculiar or "flavourful" settings on particular wheels. It's really too bad that many of the wheel manufacturers do not make it crystal clear what are the neutral settings. Would rather promote fancy looking slider decks for marketing purposes.

While we wait for the update I did try Raceroom for free this weekend. Man, that sim is not for me. Look terribly dated (their supposed graphics update is a joke), and handles and feels horrible. And don't get me started on the UI. It's getting deleted soon lol.

I guess a lot of people overestimate the settings on a dd wheelbase. Damping, Inertia and Friction are strongly related to the wheel and its weight. Recommend to use very low amount of friction and inertia adjust damping until the wheel didn’t goes to crazy with hands off. This ensures to get the best possible raw signal.
If you have a filter I adjust it to remove graininess often you hear the electronics working too if the signal is to raw. The filter just smooth out the signal, some sims have one if your base doesn’t . Adjust ingame ffb to avoid clipping mostly 50-60%, reduce wheelbase strength to your liking. Don’t use custom ffb.

A lot of it is just marketing from the manufacturers and is useless, I agree with you. Who needs a 30Nm base? No one is all marketing. Who needs an FFB curve to change? No one is all marketing. I could list many things that are just marketing from the manufacturers, and I agree with you that as linear and neutral as possible is better in most cases. But now there is also the other side. There are manufacturers and bases (I won't name any names) that have their own internal FFB software and are constantly improving and developing it. And these “own FFB algorithms” or “filters” can offer you a completely new experience and a new level. I've actually had a lot of different bases in my hands to know that there are enormous differences. The system itself (dd/belt/gear) is also crucial. In general I agree with you, but there are exceptions

Another genius decision by Reiza's marketing department.
You have to hand it to them, they really know how to maximize sales.

Guys do puddles form according to track inclination and other sorts of track geometry in AMS2? Or is it random.
