Do you mean this in relation to Wet tyres only or do you also mean this in relation to normal slicks?

 

Wet tyres

 

Normal slicks have some similar behaviour at corner exits, but for them it's really nuanced stuff and doesn't really make a difference while driving. Wet tyres for formula cars work great as well. Just with lower aero in wet weather it starts to become what I consider underwhelming.

 

I know this is off-topic, but I will say, if we end up needing to rely off of NVIDIA Surround for triples, I'm not going to be happy about it. Now, I forgot how I got Triples working on AMS2 without needing Surround, but I know I did try it recently for a short while before going back to Single monitor - didn't feel like tweaking the settings at the time.

I've tried using Surround before with Raceroom, and just setting up Surround alone was an annoyance, felt like it leaned into something very outdated. Compared to iRacing where I can just dive into the INI file, change two lines of text, and I can have whatever setup I'd like, whether it's single-center (or right side, or left side), or triples. I'd love to have that simple of a setup for Triples for every sim, rather than relying off the annoying 3rd-party software (in this context) that is Surround.

 

Anyone else notice that it's been more than a few days for the next part of the article?

 

AFAIK no specific comment on this in beta. All my tests include mandatory pit stops and it’s performed well.

 

I feel like I'm the only person who likes surround. I set it once and all my sim racing titles work and I don't ever have to mess with settings again. Maybe I just got lucky with my monitors or something. It's much easier to set it and forget, then to have to mess with ini files.
I forgot to add, I have a dedicated rig just for sim racing as well so I don't ever have to use it for anything else.

 

I have triples running (Beta) without Surround so, it's definitely doable. Just may require some file edits to setup.

 

Question time.... Has anyone driven the old school formula USA Indy cars in 1.6? and do you still need Hulk Hogan's arms to drive them?

 

It is not a problem to setup triples with surround. Only some games don’t like surround and you need to disable it. And then , if you want to go back to racing, you need to set it all up again. It is just not from this time anymore. They should make a good triple support without Nvidia Surround like we see in AMS2. Works perfectly without the use of Surround.

Because of a Mabix Video I tried AMS2 back in the days. Before that AC was my go to Sim.

 

Hello! Long time fan of Ams2 and playing the game since it launched, i wanted to thank all the hard working devs and everyone working behind that title, i am more of a silent fan reading every posts and comments than commenting them, but i wanted to ask some questions for the upcoming 1.6 update!

I always wanted for Ams2 to have punctures into the game, actually damaging tires by running onto big curbs or else... Will 1.6 add them? Or is it planned for future updates?

Second thing is, i saw that you added some new windshield effects and decals, while they adds up during the race, will going to the pit remove some of the bugs smashed or else on the windshield? As if the pitcrew washed it?

That would be amazing! I recently saw a clip from iRacing and really liked the windshield getting significantly dirtier during the race. Great for immersion!

 

I”ve seen this in some other games and although it can be immersive if it’s not implemented correctly it can be really annoying.

 

If we only had a last dev update with all the "important info [...] that would be valuable for [us] to be aware to maximise [our] experience with V1.6" ... I guess that would answer a lot of our questions.

 

Out of interest, has any one kept a record of the stagingtest updates on non-beta? it's been two days now since the last one, so it seems like it has gone quiet - how recent was the previous one? This I take as a good sign...
