Automobilista 2 V1.6 Development Update - The New Cars

Come on now. Renato wrote that likely we won't be bored by the next weekend: "i don´t think anyone will still be here throwing your proverbial cards into the proverbial hat by this time next week".

If you'd classify that as reading between the lines then we are dangerously close to being on a look out for actual cats and dogs when it rains

I mean there is a lot of wishful thinking here and I'm totally guilty of it too, just not this time.

 

If it isn't coming out this weekend they probably shouldn't have said anything at all. There was no real need for a comment on Saturday as the expectation about a release last weekend was far lower than in previous weeks.

It's also Thanksgiving in the US this weekend so if you wanted to give a slightly longer free preview weekend of the new content it would probably be good timing for that market.

 

Hi guys, Adrenaline pt2 and Racin' USA pt4 DLC is coming out this year, correct? I read news about them in some of the replies in the May dev update

 

Judging from previous updates, I expect we'll see the 3rd Development Report showcasing the new Tracks in 1.6 (and maybe more in depth details of features?) by the end of the week and likely get a minimum Release Candidate on Saturday, Sunday the latest.

Personally I would be happy with this, but of course this is only calculated speculation based on Renato's post.

 

It's a little bit sad...the creators of this game read the forum too...they see ppl are mad and want to know when 1.6 come out, but they still stay silent, as a customer i think it's unaceptable, its like i buy a milk, then open up after half year
I dont care if its only come in mid december or january, I dont care about track info i just want some info about release...a FIX info.
"Few week" is more than away from summer. (sorry for my language if i write wrong...its not my native.)

 

The fix info is "they don't know, because it's going to be released the very day it is ready". Beyond that, giving out a fixed date is just setting themselves up for failure, because they don't know what bugs they will encounter.

So what you want is actually not going to happen at any point.

 

Automobilista 2 is not a service, and buying the game doesn’t mean you’re purchasing a share of Reiza.

On top of that, the update is free, and it’s worth noting that when you purchase a product like this, ongoing development is part of the process.

 

Which they have communicated quite often by now I think.

 

Just look what happened to the "fix" release of MSFS2024. A complete disaster! And MS is a few times bigger than Reiza.

Why is everyone thinking he is entitled to be informed about everything? Are you stakeholders of Reiza? No! We bought a TEMPORARY right to use the software. Nothing more. Some folks should really work on their frustration tolerance. To quote Max's race engineer: "it's childish"

1.6 WILL come when a certain quality level is reached! And then it's state will be better than a hurried release to a fix date.

On topic (almost ): Out of experience: is there a "best practice" how to handle Mods installed via the Content Manager? Uninstall those before the update or just leave them?

 

So should I uninstall my mods Today? Thursday? Friday? or can I keep them this weekend?

 

I have serious doubt unless you call 2025 already "this year"

 

Also skins mods?

 

Can you confirm he is refering to the update and not to the DEV update?
I would like to remember you that there is another DEV update about the tracks that needs to come out first.
So make your considerations now...

As for new tracks, there’s already some information available in this forum articles and videos on YouTube. However, I’d personally prefer a more detailed article or a comparison video that focuses on technical aspects, such as physics changes, new features, updates to the livetrack, details on how particle system was changed or how the improved tire model works. To clarify, we don’t need another gameplay video. Instead, a side-by-side comparison of the current version and the new 1.6 would be ideal—something similar to what RaceRoom did before their graphics overhaul, with plenty of before/after content."

 

OK but if that is what Renato was talking about he should have made it 100% clear. If all we get this weekend is a dev update after that message people are going to be pretty disappointed.

 

That`s the problem he doesn`t speak clearly so you don`t know what he`s talking about.

 

What do you think,
Has Renato been so ambiguous because they really don't know what they're going to release this weekend? Or that they like to see us lose our minds?

 

Maybe they don’t even know themselves, they’ve never met their release targets. Even if Renato comes out today and says it will be available tomorrow, I’d take it with a grain of salt.
If they can’t release the update this week, as hinted in last Renato’s cryptic message, they should just be honest and clear about it. Something like, 'Okay, guys, it won’t be ready this week, no need to hammer the F5 key. We’ll aim for [insert new ETA] and do our best to deliver.'
