Automobilista 2 V1.6 Development Update - The New Cars

I cannot get over how absolutely gorgeous the sim looks now. Both inside and out of the cockpit. Sebring at all times of the day looked incredible. Can’t wait to see it on my own screens. Well done mates. Well done.

Presets are like filters. You can build a championship out of a preset for max realism as the formats and date/time of the day will be exactly preset for that real or semi-real championship. You can then scale durations as you see fit maintaining everything else as per filters.

 

The Ligier is amazing to sit in with VR and the sound is top notch. My favorite car now. You won't be disappointed.

You are assuming they go home to sleep during this stage of development.

 

Can the pit fuel strategy be load up as default based on the track, length and time that you have setup or is this something you still have to play with? In other words, is the game smart enough to figure out for me and determine what my fuel amount at the start so that every cars started to pit at the same time relatively speaking? I don't like to pit alone...I like when everyone start pitting. I understand different car has different capacity of fuel but I am not doing multi-class races.

Another thing is...regarding the ICM. It is very inconvenient to load up the ICM and do setup while driving...that's why I use the Crew Chief or other software and setup button shortcuts on the wheel to solve that issue with a single press. But, if the game come with shortcuts for different amount of fuel or different tires and users can assign them to buttons....that's another way to do it without the complicated way of using 3rd party software.

As someone who has been playing the beta (so the new stuff is not news to me ) the thing I saw that I really liked was this text at the bottom of the screen:

"One of the next developments will be the option to have classes run qualifying separately as is usually the case"

When that comes in a later version it will be a godsend for multi-class multiplayer races

Hopefully this will finally make clear why AC Evo is not a threat at all. This is a fully fledged Motorsports Simulator, and this update is making that fact extremely explicit. I feel like a little boy at Christmas.

The plethora of presets alone that fit race seasons/championships all over the world (e.g. I noticed "Brit GT" which I have replicated by pure chance in a championship at home) show that this is the focus of the game. It might seem silly or obvious, but this is why it's totally different from say GT or AC(E). The approach to the game aligns with my own views so well that I am made to feel almost like this game was made just for me. I imagine the others in the forum feel a similar way! Look forward to seeing some of you online, then!

What a nice morning surprise, and today I'm also receiving my new dd steering wheel!!

 

What I noticed so far (still at the Spa race) is that weather progression is finally untied from real-road progression?

If I would run a 3 laps race with two weather slots, currently, then even in light rain the track would become flooded almost instantly. While in the vid the dry tyres still have temperature and grip even at the end of the weather slot.
