Video proof of Renato playing games instead of working hard on the update. Sad days...

Just kidding. Awesome things are coming, I've got fully hyped after watching the video!

I was enjoying this video until Renato utterly desecrated our culture by calling them fries... they're chips damn you! CHIPS! :p
Jokes aside though, incredible showcase for the new content. The new presets and the matching UI changes to go with them is a surprising highlight for me! Glad there seem to be hints at a pretty imminent release because I think for me the hype train has officially lost its' brakes

I may usually be more of a traditional Group C / GT1 driver, but that Lambo at Sebring sounded wonderful.

I'll start using the term "fish & fries" from now on. It immediately sounds more classy and sophisticated! Thank you Renato!

All I can say is the visuals in 1.6...either on my G9 Neo or in VR...pleases my eyes greatly.

Add in the changes to the sounds and all the other improvements either noticeable or under the hood with a generous sprinkling of content on top ends up making 1.6 a pretty tasty pie.

    Ready to take a bite?

I am seeing that we will be able to increase the pit speed limit even further above the current 200 ?

Uninstalling as we speak and I'm neither patriotic or a fan of fish and chips but this just shows a complete lack of attention to detail that will ruin the physics of the game :)

I don't even understand, why the pit limit needs to have a value at all. We should be able to set it to any number or just "0" for nothing.

Even with the last update, that increased it to 200, which was praised as a great improvement, I did not understand this.

In code, this should be just a number in an if-statement, not more. Who cares how high this number is at all?
    Code:
    if (pit_limit_configured && (pit_limit_configured < current speed)) handle_speeding_violation();

    WTF?

Videogame coding is more complicated than that, logic is one thing, how the engine is programed is another.

I wouldn't want to argue on that. But still - where's the difference between setting it to "200", "198" or simply to "900" (which would essentially mean "no limit")?

AI probably needs a fixed value to function correctly.
And to simulate 'no limit' the simplest method is to have a very high, fixed limit.

We don't know, only Reiza (and SMS) know that, but I could theorize that the AI needs a fixed value to move at all, and if we set it at 0 the AI doesn't move, if we remove it we have to restructure the whole proces of loading up a session, since there is a variable thats fixed there called "speed limit", and if we set it to 900 the AI does some wonky **** when they enter the pits.. just spectulation on my part..

They have to make sure AI can handle increased speeds in the pits properly and not overshoot or do any other wonky stuff. You cannot just keep the same AI logic as before and just click "remove this limit" and expect the same flaweless results. That is why it was increased from the default 60 to 100 at first, and then 200. Need to make sure that it properly works first.
