I think it's a reasonable workaround. A proper fix is probably possible, but if it works with 240km/h value as a quick fix, then I see no issues.

 

I too agree with the previous four posts expressing the same idea for the pit limiter. I will add also that it is a good fix and probably the AI wouldn't work well with no fixed number.

 

What i hope is that there will be a separate "Drive through speed limit" because if you set the pit limit to 200 and get a drive through during the race then you can fly at max 200 km to serve your drive through right now.

 

If you had a drive through speed lower than the pit lane speed that would be really weird, what if you're taking a pit stop and someone else is doing a drive through penalty at the same time...?

What are these colors in the minimap of the track? Cars which are seeing blue flags? The leader was in red for a brief moment too - can a beta-user or crimson pls elaborate on this (if allowed of course)?

Someone mentioned that there is no color scheme for the different classes. I assuming that is why … I am a bit confused though.

That is actually a really good point, to be fair I don't think the concept of a drive through penalty existed at the time pit speed limiters were not forced. I believe they got implemented in F1 in 2001

 

Funny how much I enjoy the new UI (especially the car previews show the beautiful models a lot better than before). The presets are also an amazing idea - my only question: Will there be custom presets so I can configure and save my own presets for e.g. modern DTM races?

 

I would be really cool if the AI drivers reacted to being flashed from behind (caution: inappropriate jokes incoming!) and some of them would 'get nervous' or 'intimidated' and make more mistakes. Then I could roleplay as Kevin Estre bullying AI drivers to let me pass on the Nordschleife.

Please take notes, REIZA, but for the love of god: Please do not delay 1.6 because of that idea - I can wait for 1.6.1

Why would it matter when the cars are just ghosting through each other in the pits ? It would be far better that way because at the moment if you have cars that do not even reach 200 km/h on the start/finish line then you can cut the track as much as you want because the drive through does not matter.

 

Pit speed limits in F1 started in 1994, Nascar earlier in 1991.

Okay but what about it has to do with AMS2 and the implementation of a better drive through penalty so people would not abuse high pit speed limits ? I want to simulate the F1 era before 1994 yet i cannot have an "unlimit pit speed" at the moment.

 

Yeah I'm not dissagreing with you lol, I just said it was a good point, I'm just saying that the concept of drive throughs didn't exist when pit speed limiters were not in place

 

The Presets feature is absolutely marvelous! I was asking for a simple filtering solution and we end with this overkill, ingenious, and beautiful design. Thx Reiza!!!
