Yeah A flat spot (which falls into the category of tire consumption in terms of graphics) really well done! you're right and I'm happy that you like it the way it is.

My screenshot is ingame though, the one shown by you is a stock image from when they showed the features. Is it so hard to admit that it sucks how they made this flat spot on grooved tires?

Overall very positive about 1.6! I really love the presets, I hate twiddling with setting up a race so its really easy to just select a preset and go! Also thank you so much for finally fixing the map selection, 100x better and easier to remember a track.

Driving feeling!

Ohhh boy the cars actually understeers now!!

Gone are the days where you are on the limit and you can just apply more steering input and magically have the car turn in more, now you actually understeer like you should! You can't abuse this like you did in 1.5, now you have to drive like you should.

Driving on the limit is harder now, it can snap on you quick and I like the feeling there.

Now the negative thing is that this constant feeling of sliding is still there and really hasn't changed at all I think, I been driving a lot of the GT3 and they still on every turn no matter what yaws so much like the wheels are on casters and the squealing of the tyres never stop. I have never seen an onboard of a GT3 do this and I never drove in a sim where a car does this, its only in AMS 2.

Reducing tyre volume to 30% can help you forget it sometimes but its still that constant feeling of never having the car planted in turns when you are not even on the limit (on the limit the feeling is great)

But with that said 1.6 is a huge step forward and I trust that Reiza will eventually nail this! Great job guys! Have some rest now

It's not the same layout that was used in the 1980's and is universally regarded as one of the worst street courses in the history of racing.

Given that there is a very limited number of tracks that can be produced by the team, I sincerely hope to never see this one as there are at least 100 tracks that I could list off the top of my head that would be a better overall use of resources. If I used the Internet, there would be 200

 

The new UI ieels so clunky

With a wheel you can no longer access the option menu using a funky switch/dpad you can only access it with a mouse which is annoying during a race. They have moved the option tab away up into the top corner and it is not selectable without a mouse

Also moving between sessions the UI glitches and double clicks or doesn't move

 

In online tire wear mode, you can only select off or authentic, but not accelerated, why?

on single player i can choose 48 opponents but not when i want to do custom championship i can only choose 31 opponents

I don't like the race distribution of cars in race around the track in AMS 2. The cars are in couples, AMS 1 was better and more dynamic. for me the best racing game in this aspect. Thanks Reiza for the hard work for the update but in my opinion this is the biggest problem of AMS 2. Is it a limit of Madness Engine ?

 

Sounds like custom championship doesn't support that yet. They mentioned there's some WIP with the expanded grids, hence issues like overlapping cars in pit stalls

 

Sebring feels just right: bumpy, yes, but not *too* bumpy as in other sims. With Mosport and Road Atlanta, definitely what I was waiting for in this new batch of DLCs. Let's hope we eventually the rest of the IMSA grid. And maybe Lime Rock Park.

 

Normal service has resumed. I'm now consistently crashing out in the last couple of laps when I'm having a decent race, glad Reiza didn't fix that
