This update is mostly superb, for me the most important change is being able to adjust the AI strength in the wet so we can have close racing in changable conditions. I hope it's not too long before Reiza implements the throttle and braking skill levels for the AI.
The Formula Ultimate Gen 2 is the series I drive the most, (with 2024 drivers and liveries of course), for me the only things missing now are 1) the AI still not using medium and hard tyres and 2) having Q1, Q2 and Q3
but that could be a while away.
Overall an awesome update for a sim that just keeps getting better and better.

I flagged this before but in general keyboard and wheel UI navigation has taken a hit.

hi guys - We're still having the depth of field bug on AMD cards. This is making photomode nearly unusable.

It only happens if Bokeh is enabled.

Did you force early conclusion of the session? If yes, that is usually making cars go unrealistically fast

    A quick question...

The spacebar seems to be internally mapped to bringing up the Options Menu. Can that be turned off? (I can't find how...).

Reason is the spacebar is by far the best key to map to VR reset. I have mapped it to VR reset but now I get the desired reset and a switch to the options menu which is a tad annoying.

Let me tell you a short story. Once, I wandered into my favorite cigar shop in my hometown. The owner, a man I held in high regard, greeted me with a warm, easy smile. As we chatted, I mentioned a cigar I had tried recently. "Honestly," I said, "I thought it tasted pretty bad." He chuckled, leaning on the counter.

"Well," he said, "tastes can't be argued. What’s bad to you might be someone else’s favorite." His words struck me deeply and left a lasting impression. I’d never thought about it that way before. I left the shop not just with a pack of cigars but with a small lesson I’ve carried ever since.

It's not just the Option screen. I can't select a car with my wheel's dpad. Also the button to confirm a selection is different depending on which menu I'm in. Also the Back button is different depending on the menu.

The main thing for me ... I use VR ... I want to be able to navigate all the menus with my wheel's dpad and buttons (like a controller). It's inconvenient using a keyboard & mouse in VR.

If anyone was watching Nils's stream yesterday, why was he having to sort of rotate his car with throttle and neutral steer in every slow speed corner? I thought it's unsustainable to do that in a high downforce car like an LMDh. From IRL onboards I notice this doesn't happen. Just a setup thing or driving style?

That explains it. Same thing happened for me in a SP, AI race at Spa. The top 3 cars were doing 2.13s when the rest of us were on 2:21. :)

Not sure if it's a bug or intentional, but anyone else notice the Barcelona no-chicane version only allows for 32 on the grid, and the others allow for 48?

Love 1.6. Every aspect of it. A little criticism about AI, they tend to brake a little bit too early, have an unpredictable behavior early/mid-corner (wobbles, stutters, quirks) and accelerate with lots of grip late in the corner. A couple of time i divebombed on the inside, made the pass, and then either took off track or overtaken on the outside in a rather exagerated way.
I think the slide bars with AI brake and throttle showed on Overtake.gg will fix it, but this was just to share with you my impressions (I’m rather picky on AI, i know..)

A great statement which has no use for anybody

Yes, there are some things which are not good but to improve it's best to figure out what is not good instead of giving a nonsens feedback.

I think the MP UI is a step back, the clarity is gone, there is less info visible about the lobby than before (you can´t find out stuff like cockpit view forced on until you actually start a session, for example).

On a separate matter, I tried the FT Advanced at Road Atlanta, the car felt like it was on rails once the tyres got up to temperature until at one point it didn´t when slowing down for one corner and there was a brutal derailment, more than one would expect from weight transfer. under braking or the BB too far back. A bit like lift off oversteer on a FWD car but it came so suddenly and without any possibility to recover - a bit like old RRE instabin. Need to do some more practise but it was certainly jarring.

Did I see it mentioned that they will be separating qualifying in multiclass races? With a full grid it can be quite hard work, I only do 15 minutes for qualifying so it might be better with longer sessions but even on Kansai which isn’t a short track cars are getting pretty stacked up if you do LMdh, LMP2 and GT3.

It was mentioned in the video that they want to implement separate qualyfing sessions for different classes.

I managed to get 2 hours of driving 1.6 yesterday (super full weekend this week) and I did Porsche & Audi GT3 Gen2 on Nürburgring Veedol, LMP2 on Sebring (the Oreca) & the Ligier P1 Gen2 on a wet Interlagos. So far, I have mixed feelings about it.
After a couple of laps in the GT3, I went back to the pits and changed the clutches in the setup from 6 to 2, as I used to do before 1.6 and this made the cars feel better on throttle at corner exits. I noticed that the Audi is really silent in the cockpit view.

The Oreca LMP2 Gen2 at Sebring was nice, you could really push and brake late, the brakes feel much better than in LMU (where the brakes feel to me lake you are stepping on a pack of Mozarella :D).
One thing I noticed: The big bump in the last corner comes several meters later in AMS2 than in LMU. I wonder which is the more accurate version of the track?

The Ligier P1 on damp Interlagos (of course with dry tires) felt also very good, the car almost felt easy to drive and I pushed hard only to end up in the wall as I was overdoing it - nice!

The UI is good and as I mentioned before, I like the transistion into the loading screen, thats eyecandy for me.

I hope I can get some more hours in today, definitly in the coming days, as I want to try racing in LFM.

Before you join a lobby you can click anywhere within your highlighted lobby list item within the MP Browser and you will be presented with the Lobby Info page. 'Force Interior View' No/Yes is one of the bits of info on display for this page. We floated the idea of having a info icon on the MP Browser list items however due to lack of real-estate and not wanting to force users to click on a tiny icon, for now we continued to use the functionality of the old Ui. I hope this helps :)

Drove some vintage F1 cars around Nürburgring Südschleife.

Holy crap the immersion is amazing, patches of snow here and there. Some fella cooking just by the track. Spectators jumping up and down.

Really impressed with how immersive and alive it all feels!!

Also GT3 actually feels amazing now, I think I realized I really don't like how the Mercedes drives. Fat pig.

But tried the Porsche and Lambo and boy they are oversteery and you can really throw them into corners but still now with 1.6 you have to respect these beasts over curbs and on the edge of grip!
