The AI is far more enjoyable to race against now but boy did I have some weird moments with it the last days. It seems very important to give some space to the AI, specially because of the old "magnet" behavior of the AI, if it bumps into you it will glue to your car and both cant make the turn anymore for some reason, took me out several times.

 

Yes this is annoying and wasn't there in 1.5. I think the AI just keeps pushing against you instead of trying to turn the other way to avoid further contact

 

In 1.5 they would always give you more room than you deserve and act like a reverse magnet and be pushed away from you in totally unrealistic way. In 1.6 they stand their ground a lot more even though they try to steer a bit in a reactionary way they will not let you "steer them" off the track anymore.

Can you record a video of when the AI pushes you ? Because to me it only happens if i try a dumb move and pass when i should have waited or given more room, which is realistic.

 

It only happens when I do something dumb, that's right, but that doesn't mean that the AI should keep pushing against me (considering I am trying to get away...so this generally happens with the player being in the inside) instead of leaving a bit of room (if possible) and keep fighting for the position. I agree though with the repelling magnet behavior from 1.5 and I think the AI behaves much better now

 

I haven't driven any racecars IRL, but the cars in AMS2 are feel way too easy to drive. I have a lot of grip most of the times, even in wet conditions. The only car I loved so far was the McLaren F1. Understeer is nicely represented in the game, but oversteer is almost missing everywhere, which is quite odd.
It would be very nice to have difficulty settings for more fun.

 

Record a video of how you drive please, i am curious to see what do you consider "Easy" about 1.6 given how much i spin out ever since the update came out.

 

I'm far from being even an amateur sim driver, just have come from rF2 (cause they stopped development), and AMS2 is a bit less challenging. I might get used to it soon, and find the limits easier. I'd love to see AMS2 as a rival physics-wise, cause it's become my go to sim right now.

 

I'm not familiar with too many cars yet, I've just tried the ones I know from rF2. Which cars do you drive? It might be my choice of cars...

 

I drive many: Copa Monta, Copa Uno, F-HiTech Gen 2, F-Classic Gen 4, F-Retro Gen 1, F-Vintage Gen 2, Ginetta G55 GT4 Supercup, German Group A, Group C, GT1, GT Classic, GT4, GTE, Old Stock, Opala 1986, M1 Pro Car, StockCar Brasil 1999, Stock Cars 2021, Lamborghini Super Trofeo, SuperV8.

 

It existed before, just wasnt so noticeable because the AI in 1.5 gives too much space, now it (rightfully) doesnt extend a red carpet for you so its quite a problem. It happens with you on the outside or the inside, its like you get glued to the other car.

 

I’d agree , I’ve spun more times in the last few days than all the years I’ve been playing AMS2 it’s great . I was absolutely spanking around Sebring in the Lambo Lmdh and it spat me out of a corner and into a wall massively.
I had to watch a replay and saw the error of my ways so it was the right outcome.

 

I too have driven mainly in RF2, I find a good way of transferring what you are accustomed to is to start on a completely green track in AMS2, this will allow you to have a more familiar feel and as the track rubbers in it will allow you to get a better feel of the edge of grip.

After playing the new update for 3 days straight i have to thank the whole Reiza team one more time. I want to run home from work to try different cars. Thank you for making this amazing game!

 

You really can’t say this stuff without sharing a video or some leaderboard times. If you are just cruising around the track at 109% the World Record , it SHOULD be easy. People drive their cars in the roads (and rain…) all the time, a car with slicks that is specifically designed to have grip will be even easier. If you actually are pushing the limits , please share some times/videos.

 

Sorry for the misunderstanding if any. I didn't say that it was easy to beat people or AI in this sim. The conditions are the same for everyone. I said that it felt less challenging for me to stay on the track compared to myself in rF2. I can't compare it to RL experiences for I only have driven gokarts
I tried AMS2 before, and the reason I came back to it, that it feels much better than it was, but still feels a bit forgiving.

 

You can really feel the differences in tire temps and wear in this update, in a way that just wasn't there prior to 1.6. Very impressive.

 

AI is much better. Full throttle when needs. At the standing start, no more slow cars.
Of course still needs some adjust, but is much better. Finally is enjoyable race against AI.

 

Yes, and breaks too. Cold breaks the car will not stop easily. You can really see that at the begging of the race.
