Agree that clutch damage and brake wear could live with a HUD info.

Brake Fade isn't necessarily brake wear tho - when iron cast discs get over 700°C they can already degrade in performance temporarily without having any brake wear yet. Or Carbon discs not delivering performance when they're cold as the opposite range.

YouTube and the social media in general is full of people discussing stuff they don't have any idea about. It is on us to treat them as charlatans and not as experts, since this is what the huge majority are

I wouldn't generalize here either tho - there are fairly passionate and knowledgeable folks out there aswell! I'm guilty about kicking off that topic but let's return to the topic of update and release of the game itself now. :)

The Ayrton Senna track from Goiania Brazil is on AMS2 right? Motogp will back to Brazil in 2026 in this track.

Regardless of what the AMS2 UI calls it, I think the typical construct of “deadzone” is misleading in this case. Both the LFB and Steering Deadzone sliders activate different filters that can be utilized, as needed based on hardware or preference, to optimum FFB in the sim. I see nothing virtuous in avoiding the use of either of these filters if they help to positively impact feel at the wheel.

I suppose, then, that it is doubly ironic that @Coanda used a LFB of 2 on his DD wheel when he previously calibrated FFB for every vehicle in the sim….

Not ironic as most DD wheels should require very low amounts of "LFB."

It's the Damping and FX sliders that so many people get wrong, combined with non-linear or non-neutral settings on the wheel base itself.

I would like to know, what exactly does this option do when you're on a preset? :)

Whilst I agree it'd be great to have this information on the hud, I'd like to point out that second monitor (app available on GitHub) displays them. Brake wear is difficult to read, but I've really only suffered brake wear issues in races that lasted more than 4hrs (real time accelerated x5 for 24hr simulation time) with endurance cars. Can't speak for other classes. Even then it was rather track dependant if it was worth pitting for repairs/replacement. Although logic says replacement, repair seems to be the way it's modelled as the greater the brake wear the longer the pit stop time required. The AI also seems to suffer brake wear and lap times fall off a cliff, but I'm not sure if they pitted for repairs or not, only some ai cars were affected and we have no information on ai wear rates or repair strategies/pitstops.

Have yet to play 1.6 as I don't get back home until Xmas. :(

The above is based on my experience with 1.5.

The Multiplayer needs a filter to hide servers with password

I think that it's supposed to be a wheel deadzone and it's supposed to do what the text that pops up says.

I thought I was the only one. Started a trip on 28th November, the update came on 29th. I'll try 1.6 only on 31st December.

Unless I'm missing something, I would not agree that brake temps for example should appear on HUD unless the car being driven can display in car, that info in real life.

    In my opinion

I am another one…. Pc died on September 7th, waiting for spare parts to arrive (hopefully) soon. To add insult to injury, Canada Post is in strike too, so not sure when parts arrive. Character building period for sure. Hope before Christmas, but it’s tough to see all opinions and great feedback on 1.6 and not be able to try it myself.

I partially agree. I wanted to have the realism option to limit this kind of information, just in case someone wants to run a more hardcore server. But to simply remove it I don't think that would be a very popular decision.

Limiting Crew Chief and HUD information to have a more authentic experience should be optional in my opinion. Of course for single player you can simply disable those things, but for multiplayer we needed an option to force that.

It matches the preset for race length, date etc with what you're racing in! So, like, a 70-ish lap in F1 cars, or a 30 minute race if it's F3 all the way to a 24h race if you're at Le Mans in the endurance series.

Maybe it's just poorly stated. Maybe it no longer has any function and it could be removed. But perhaps this means the “minimum force” to compensate for a dead steering zone. However, this would only make sense with very, very weak bases, such as gear bases such as Logitechs. But I don't know, only Reiza could solve it herself, making assumptions about it is actually pointless

I HATE THAT BUG. TC and ABS disable himself in multiplayer in race.

Same, totally hate it... absolutely disgusting issue. On a positive note: There is a good lead on the remaining occurance of that issue, so it's likely to be tackled soon.

In single player it shouldn't happen anymore but it still can in MP.

As a workaround for the time being map your TC and ABS (not the onboard but the "ingame ones") and cycle them from low/high/off -> low again and the assists should re-appear.

This hopefully will be a thing of the past soon, it's one of the most frustrating legacy issues that still raise themselves from hell after another instance got fixed.
