As far as I know the AI strategies are a separate code to their custom parameters, so I don't think a custom AI file would make a difference.
    • fuel_management: For now this parameter works in oval tracks only (but in future it will be extended to all track types); The higher the value, the more the AI will try to save fuel in some strategic situations instead of pushing, like when it sees it can maybe save a pitstop, it will try to stay in draft and coasting instead of overtaking while at the same time trying to not lose much distance to the race leader. It doesnt mean high value is better than low value, its just a characteristic of the driver.
I don't think the fuel management matters much in the GT1's not fueling completely. At least with the Formula Cars the AI do fill their tanks to avoid pitting for fuel if they can.

Have you tried without the custom AI?

Got it, yeah I figured. It's just frustrating. Thanks :) I hope the devs got visibility on this issue. No idea if it affects the lmdh's. I know they'll get on it when they get the chance.

The Tyre management does affect pit stops. Ive experimented with the default vs a modded file using accelerated wear.

Really old thread I guess...but I'm assuming there's still no remedy for the fact that your AI co-driver is slower than you? Honestly this defeats the whole feature of AI driver swap. They should be within a second of your time, give or take. If not you have to adjust the opponent AI downward--and I don't know if your AI adjusts downward with it, not to mention ruining the challenge when the human driver is on the track. Does anyone have any ideas for this? Or do we just pester Reiza or get used to just pausing 24h endurance races a lot (since we have no session save).

So your AI co drivers pace is tied to the in game difficulty. So if you want to make them faster, lower the race/quali skills of all drivers in your custom ai file, then raise the in game difficulty to balance out. The only real bug with ai driver swaps is tire wear is not reset when swapping to the ai driver.

Been looking through threads trying to find guidance on using custom AI drivers in 1.6 and not having much luck. I'm new to AMS2 with the 1.6 update and really pleased so far. Been sim racing for about a year (mostly iRacing). While I do online racing, I do spend a fair amount of time offline, and in iRacing really liked the level of customization you can to with sliders and various driver attributes. So, I downloaded the "custom driver utility", created a grid, saved to the AMS2 "user data" folder, etc.
In game, when creating a custom session I do not see the grid I created (or anything else in the menu) for using custom AI. Can anyone help with what I am missing?

There’s nothing more to select. Make sure your number of opponents is set to the same number of drivers in your custom file or less. If it’s not working you most likely have a typo in the livery names. Make sure the livery names in the custom file match those in game EXACTLY. like case and space sensitive and everything.

So does anyone know of a way to edit the max number of custom drivers supported? I'm trying to recreate (or as close as I can get) to the 2024 Daytona 24hr grid. Right now I have 54 cars. (you can change the max grid size using cheat engine incase you didn't know). However I can only seem to get custom AI files to work with up to 47 AI drivers. Any more than that, and the custom grid breaks. I've tested each class individually. All working, so no typos anywhere. This has been the case long before the new 48 car grids were implemented. Anyone have any ideas?
