Automobilista 2 V1.6, IMSA Track Pack, Endurance Pt2 & Lamborghini DLCs RELEASED (V1.6.3.4 Live Now)

The Endurance pk is a great deal all around. You get for LMP2s and all four seem awesome. The Audi GT4 is trail braking beast. I haven't really tried the Alpine yet or the Corvette. No brainer DLC!

 

Audi GT4 isn't part of that DLC, but was a free addition

So been putting a lot of hours into AMS2 now, kinda had AMS 2 on a long pause before.

But honestly 1.6 is game changing for real.

Never before in AMS 2 have the driving been so easy and intuitive , I build up my times until I get to that threshold where I only can find a few tenths here and there. This is the fun part because now you are on your personal limit and it's so great because it's very easy to figure out when you are at it.

So many times I've been frustrated trying to just push the car a little harder on turn ins or just take the corner deeper over the kerbs only to be punished swiftly.

The thrill of driving on the limit and knowing this or that move could be a race ending crash, not knowing if you might pull it off or not. That's very very fun.

 

I seem to be struggling with the brakes in lower powered cars, Formula Junior, Formula Trainer, etc. since the update. Very hard to get them to stop without flat spotting the tires. Has anyone had to recalibrate anything like the brake pressures since the update?

 

What brakes do you have? Loadcell or hall sensor?

It's definitely one of the harder aspects of sim racing, especially with a hall sensor brake. You can play with the setup brake power or even the sensitivity setting in the control settings, but I guess the problem is, high brake power + ABS stops faster than low brake power + trying to feather a brake pedal and avoid lock ups with a hall sensor brake.

 

It may not be your problem, but it is worth calibrating your pedals each time you boot up the game. Mine often become over sensitive if I don't.

 

If I'm reading you right, your stating that FFB and Physics in V1.6 are excellent/accurate, have to agree with you fully.
On a more personal note, really appreciate Mosport, as I raced there for 5 years, and brings back memories.

My copilot mentioned the brakes, because I was trail breaking into the corner.

 

Now that physics changes are basically done and UI update is finished, i wonder what could possibly be next aside from new cars/tracks. There is the for now greyed out Career mode but before that is implemented i hope there are AI improvements still planned.

 

I assume some sound upgrades.

Those cars have auto gear shifts. In the car setup you can disable them if you want.

 

Yes, in real life up shifts were automatic (because the computer could shift more precisely than the drivers). Down shifts were manual. As mentioned above, you can control this (and make it authentic or not) in the garage set-up menu.

I don't know the difference. It's whatever these Fanatec V3 pedals have.

 

Is there a way to make test day instant replays record past one lap? I found a work around which is pausing the game right before the finish line but that's just weird.

 

Instant replays are limited to 2mins unfortunately.
As a workaround you can set up a single race with 0 opponents and you can watch the full replay once you finished that "race".

Is this just an engine limitation or just something to improve upon?

 

If you are using Authentic settings, just set the gear change to "both" (up and down) in the garage settings.
