LOL I've seen a Bugatti Chiron shiny "mirror-like" silver in Dubai. So horrible. How to ruin a car

I just finished a custom championship with it and the car is amazing now, no funky handling and if you go over the limit it notes you hard.

Just also wanted to say a big thank you to Reiza for creating 1.6! It has brought back my lost passion for sim racing, just finished my first race at LFM (great to have this collaboration!), first "league" race after more than a year, thoroughly enjoyed it and looking forward for more!

If you guys manage to also fix more of the long standing bugs in multiplayer, it will make AMS2 almost perfect I think... Btw, this race did go very smoothly (including a well working safety car period), when AMS2 online works, it's all simply brilliant!

Here to confess that I'm guilty of alternating between stages of denial, hopefullness, bargain for months while the update was teased to us. At times, I was with the guys' claiming that marketing and communications concerning this update is wrong camp and we shouldn't be hopelessly teased for this long, otherwise our frustration is justified; other times I was firmly with the guys' insisting that AMS2 is awesome and full of wonderful activities as it is camp, and we should be more thankful that the team is working hard this long to bring us f--ng free update, so there's no place for whining.
As with the brake balance, the truth here is the balance of both with the bias to the latter of course. What I always reminded myself, is that for years I knew that Reiza is the only team on the market that will satisfy my racer needs the way I want and will eventually bring everything I ever hoped for, and that's why I don't play any other sim (maybe that also caused problems with the patientece during 1.6 preparation, lol).
Now that physics and all the fundamental things that are time-consuming when recalibrating in all cars are finally dialed-in this time, brings me optimism that from now on Reiza will have their time to focus on bringing more tracks, cars and QoL updates for us, and career for those craving for it. I hope it will be a crunchless, stress-free time and a smooth ride from now on for the dev team. Thank's for the best sim, guys.

Yesterday I had the most immersive race in a long time. I am replicating a British GT championship and yesterday was the round at Donington!

About halfway in there was a crash caused by some GT4s after the kink, and because of all the smoke I couldn't see and crashed into some cars, damaging my suspension. This caused a full course yellow, so I limped round to the pits, as did some other GT3s that also got involved (if they were getting repairs it took way less time than I did, but anyway). I got my suspension fixed and just about caught up with the back of the safety car train, but then didn't have time to get past last, and span off because of cold tires on my way round! Ultra realism.

Well unfortunately we won't get to know whats coming next because of the negative lead up to 1.6, I assume the career mode will be a big part of the next development cycle. Myself I am hoping that time is spent giving AMS2 a polish, getting rid of the persistent bugs, optimizing performance adding small features that will make what we have feel complete, such as the custom championship having the AI options and presets.

More content is nice and a necessity for Reiza to make money but the DLC's are starting to get out of hand and could do with some of the older ones being combined where possible.

I wouldn't expect the career mode to come next cycle. I would believe it to be coming, as a first version, with V1.7

Yes I agree, I don't believe it will be a complete thing when first introduced but something that is added to over time.

Yes I know. I said this already. Remember you said that it wasn't possible to remove the assists and now I've told you how to do that you're telling me what the car is like to drive without assists as though you have some insight I haven't had for a long time.

I answered your question but if that was a half a book to you then I think most of us stopped reading your books when we went to big school :)

Nice out of context snipping. You are obviously trolling, so thanks for wasting my and everyone else's time in here.

And for the record, the cars work as well as any others in the game and as expected.

Your time is your own. I have no influence over how you choose to spend it.

You seem to want an argument for no reason and I can't help you with that.

Of all the HUD elements to be moved, why can we not move the ICM around at all ?
The forced position is really bad when i adjusted my HUD elements to all be bottom and center-focused on screen.

I asked this question before and IIRC Crimson said it’s not really a HUD element programming wise so it can’t be currently done. I think he said it was maybe possible, but time will tell

You can imagine ICM indeed more like an UI container, than it is a HUD widget, so it is working under different rules programming wise. Time will tell, if something could be done about it!

But am I the only one who finds the curbs too light with the standard profiles? I drove a car on the track last week and I assure you that the curbs are felt and a lot. I have a 12nm base, I don't think I lack strength

If you've got a fanatec, try upping the FOR to 110, are you using Low Force Boost at all? and FX? my curbs give me (goose) bumps on my 8nm csl dd...

Apologies, but I think you're barking up the wrong tree with that one.

Scrubbing is not really the same as sliding; a tyre can still be gripping while lots of toe out is applied demonstrating this as the direction of the wheels' rotation is not at the same angle as the direction of travel. So if you mean 'sliding' in this sense, fair enough.

If not, I would direct you to LMP or F1 cars as they most certainly are not 'designed to slide' (having more grip the faster you go) and neither, as a rule of thumb, are road cars for very different reasons. Many road cars are awful in a slide if you do force one, especially front wheel drives, they are designed to be as easy to drive as possible and a road car that is prone to sliding is, well... Not.

Furthermore, TC is designed to stop slide, it's right there in the name. It tries to maintain traction in situations where you would ordinarily lose traction, making the driven wheels slide. The existence of such a system couldn't more clearly show that the goal of engineers is not, in most cases, sliding.

Also, other than a couple of notable exceptions, sliding is slower than maintaining grip on tarmac.

Hope you don't take that as an attack, but I'm sorry, I couldn't let it slide, pun intended. :p

This isn't entirely true. Peak tire forces happen when there is some sliding happening. In the lateral case (your toe out scenario), the trailing end of the contact patch is sliding while rest of it is "planted". In the longitudinal case, it's easier to talk about slip ratio which by definition quantifies the disconnection between expected tire rotation from pure rolling ("planted") at current ground speed and actual rotation. When accelerating and decelerating at tires' peak performance, there is some of this disconnect i.e. some slip ratio which is caused by sliding.

Race car TC and ABS are designed a bit differently from road car systems with this in mind. You fine tune them based on conditions, but the basic idea is to monitor slip ratio and let it go up to the fine tuned maximum before intervention.

But I have a feeling that we're talking about two different things: dramatic sliding you can see and contact patch sliding a bit (useful limit will vary from one tire to another).

Exactly matey, I may have just completely misunderstood what he was saying but yeah, 'slide' as a word felt like it referred to the more dramatic kind.
