Why have that in AMS2 ? Only bikes race there anyway as far as i am aware ? Would be a waste of resources and time if people would be able to use it only for time trials and not race.

Just to be clear. Are you saying that Thunderflash has just recently made two mods with Audi R8 LMP and Maserati MC12 GT1 which could mean that these are mod cars, not new cars in development by Reiza?

its interesting cause there was a modder that was converting the PC1 Stock Car but outta nowhere the mod was removed. Whos to say that maybe Reiza is already working on it

I'm sure you're right, if cars don't race there in real life then it would be no fun at all. (gimme strength).

So the audi and maserati files you saw are not leftovers from thunderflash?

    The community's gonna hype accordingly.

Time and resources better spent making tracks where cars actually race on.

On the face of it, that's a surprising statement coming from @TomLehockySVK, the Bill France of AMS2 ... unless, of course, such restrictions apply only to Reiza's time and Reiza's resources.

I have both files in my folder too. There’s also a clear difference in old PC2 cars and Reiza added cars

Looks pretty arcadish handling to me. Some completely unrealistic speeds around the bends - cars can't do that. The graphics weren't that good. The trees didn't look real. Would be good to put it in a sim :)

I note someone a while back tried to raise funds here and around other sim communities to get the TT course scanned (I think without much success) - I wonder if the TT themselves own scans now or if anyone else has scanned it for a different game? (Presumably one with 2 wheeled vehicles)

For me the downside with 17 minute laps for hotlaps is that is anyone really going to keep repeating 17 minute laps to try and knock a tenth of the last corner and do that without making a different mistake somewhere else? Meaning it wouldn't really be a hotlap track either. Just a long drive around some roads. Like that German toll road.

The roundabout turn looked fun though.

I guess a lot of people enjoy driving around that German road in sims and real life. Unless I thought I was going there and thought "I'd better learn the track before I go" I'm going to load a track that's much shorter that I can lap in a few minutes over and over. Maybe that's just me though - even the full layouts are getting bit long.

Although realism is an important part of sim racing, being able to do the impossible is also appealing, racing modern cars on tracks or layouts that no longer exist, or classic cars on modern tracks, or racing truck on Nords.

The isle of man TT is a unbelievable track, some of the most thrilling experiences I have had in sim racing is on that track. I have run 100s of laps in Rfactor2 on and it never gets boring. Racing on it can be fantastic in just about any car, but so can just driving it at a moderate pace and enjoying the drive.

It will never happen, but if Reiza made the track it would make a good amount people very happy, of that I am sure.

I have a theory that one of the biggest issues with the lack of identity of modern racing games is a lack of original tracks. If you look at any game made in the last 10-20 years, they all have monza, they all have nurb, they all have laguna seca, they all have spa. There's nothing wrong with that individually, but collectively it means we've been driving the sameish cars around the sameish tracks...

AMS2 does a really good job getting away from this with its wealth of south american content (although most of it was also in ams1) and the wealth of historic content that no other game can match. But still, its been 6 years now, and those novelties are wearing thin again. So I would love to see Reiza design a track from scratch, or give us reverse layouts of existing tracks, or something like the isle of man tt that is totally different from anything else in the game...

that being said, still at least 10 DLC packs still to come... So we wont be lacking for content as a whole for quite a while longer

Yeah, Im yearning for new tracks already. Got 250 laps in Mosport and Road Atlanta each already and would like a new challenge.

Was top 2 in Mosport Time Trial in GT3 Gen2 and top 10 right now in Road Atlanta GT3 Gen2. So whilst not quite the record holder, I feel Ive mostly come to grips with those tracks already.

Whilst I love new cars, I feel its new tracks that are the lifeblood of racing sims. This year we got only 3 new tracks + Betonschleife variant for '71 Nurbs. Thats left me with severe withdrawal symptoms.

Im not really into fantasy tracks, though. But there are some real gems amonst the lesser known South American tracks. Especially Ibarra, Curvelo, Velocita, Brasilia, Jacaperagua 1988 and the Interlagos from the '70s.
