I've been tracking votes for this at this thread: Top 10 Wishlist - New layouts

Your ideas match many of the most voted historic layouts here, so you are onto something. Historic Brands Hatch is another worthy addition :)

I am pretty sure they will add support for this. However, what you can do now and I reccomend it, is running the championship using a spreadsheet and setting up the races by hand. I use the champ mode ingame to do some chill races in the steam deck but when I do my "hardcore" races in the rig I always prefer the spreadsheet method. You have much more control (small rule changes from race to race, custom grids race to race, etc etc). In the case of imsa you can do some multiclass races and some single class as in real life for instance. The only thing I miss when doing this is the ability to save between sessions (doing the champ in a spreadsheet you must do qualy and race in one gaming session, while in champ mode you can do the qualy and load the champ later).

You can set up a single race championship each time, so you can save between sessions

At this exact patch I would miss some bits like the mistakes multiplier but that is in fact a very good idea!

Grids would still be small though compared to what’s available in single race

I love 1.6, but I feel that championship mode is the big forgotten in this update. Sadly is the mode I use the most.

My guess it’s on the pipeline to upgrade championship mode along with career mode, but that’s only my 2cents guess.

I'm excited about the game design of the career mode.
There is so much potential for new experiments. Especially with the huge scope that AMS2 offers.

Whether you run a racing team across generations from grandpa to grandson?
Or participates in an online ranking system?
Or rather an expanded championship sandbox menu where you choose your own configuration?

Me too, I believe this will skyrocket the value proposition of AMS2 vs competitors. I would like to have maybe a driver financial background dictating how easy or hard you career might be. Ex, on easiest level, you start as a son of a billionaire (ex: Stroll or Sirotkin) with plenty of categories already available, where you can choose to start at almost any point of racing ladder, and which you can setup private testing, or change categories as you will. On the hardest settings, you might be a kid from an unfavourable background, with access maybe only to rental kart competition, where everything is non accessible, and which you need to win races to get money in a race per race basis and go from there. If you win a championship you might earn a test in another category for example, or an invitation for 1 race in another series. The player would be able to chose a career starting point in any of these 2 spectrums, and this will dictate how easy or hard would be to progress in the racing ladder. This will put a lot of pressure on harder difficulty, but on easier ones player will still have to navigate thru racing ladder. A career mode like this would really appeal to me.

I created a tread that covers all the historic tracks used in the various F1 seasons covered in Automobilista.

Formula 1 Seasons - Complete Track List

    Of the tracks already in game, historic versions of Brands Hatch (1974, 1978 & 86), Long Beach (1978 & 83), Watkins Glen (1974), Donington (1993) & Kyalami (1993) would all be great. As my main interest is 70's/80's & 90's F1 I'd also like an historic Monaco (1974, 1983 & 1991), Suzuka (1988 & 91), Buenos Aires (1974 & 95) & Mosport (1974).

At some point I'll do the same for the tracks needed for Group C (1988/89) & CART (1995, 98 & 00).

Have the large puddles disappeared since the 1.6 release? It seems like water no longer accumulates to form puddles. I can't find them anymore when it rains. While I appreciate the improved driving conditions in the wet, I miss those big ass puddles xD

Generally puddles do not form close to the racing line anymore on modern tracks.

I’d love the ability to exclude certain conditions from random weather , some like storm and heavy fog aren’t realistic.

so what happen last year with with Heavy Fog interrupting big races like Spa wasn’t real ?
Or the Massive storm that affected Interlagos F1 which turned the day to night in moments wasn’t real?

but the option to choose isn’t an unreasonable request to be honest.
There are locations where it’s not very likely .

I know it happens , Like the N24hr that was cut short and many F1 races interrupted.
Maybe I didn’t explain correctly by say unrealistic , I meant that it was unrealistic that the race would continue in some of that extreme weather and with no way of a red flag or delay ingame I’d like the ability to exclude those weather options entirely from practice qually or race. It’s good to have them as options for those who want it but also would be nice to have the option to turn off.

What is not real is no red flags in the game to stop and restart the race once the weather gets better.

Are we sure that the ai improved? They are neither giving way nor avoid contact. I didn't see any improvements. It's just as bad as before. They are always using the ideal racing line

I doubt to many people want to stop and sit in the pit for an hour or more …

I doubt it would be simulated to that extreme. For all the crap people talk about F1 games, F1 23 has just a timeskip for red flags. Then again AMS2 has the livetrack feature that does not allow us to skip laps in replays so i am certain livetrack would not allow us to skip a thunderstorm. Maybe it would do the 20x speed increase as a timeskip, problem solved no waiting for 1 hour ?

I have my own opinions of the AI but in regards of them not giving you room, do you have a video recording of it happening, are you able to record a video with the radar / chase cam or any other way of seeing the AI how they behave around you ?

I am still having the opposite problem of the AI giving me too much room and are easy to exploit as they move away to let you hold any line i want .
