I'll just vent a bit about something, one thing that really kill some races (against the AI at least) that should be a priority to solve is the "magnet effect" when your car even with the slightest of bumps on the side of an AI get glued together, one thing I noticed is that my wheel is totally turned to the other side but when I look in the replay my wheels are basically not turning at all, the day this is not a thing anymore is gont to be a great day.

 

I vaguely recall this being an issue as far back as PC1. When they swapped to some Havok based collision physics we ended up with all sorts of crap to contend with like exploding curb collisions and sticky cars/guard rails. As you say, would be great to finally get rid of this effect.. but its been so long.

 

Totally agree, the worst thing is when you do get stuck on them, they turn aggressively into you, and if you are ahead of them but still touching, it just spins you around.

 

How can you normally follow some moments in the race when you don't have the opportunity to immediately look at the right moment in the replays, and if the race is more than an hour?

 

i meditate with my eyes closed until I get to the right spot. Unfortunately this is a(n) (in)famous problem with the Madness engine.

 

It wasn't so bad a problem when the AI avoided the player much more intensely. I guess with closer racing come other issues. if it gets fixed I will also be very happy. I imagine now that physics is mostly stabilised, the same engineers (and RS himself) will be focusing on AI. And Career, presumably, of course.

I read it has to do with "livetrack", and i am certain that is one of the core issues because try racing in the rain and the puddles and wet spots will be DIFFERENT than they were in the actual race because the track conditions have to be built new again.

If there was an option to disable livetrack and have just a generic "light rubber" texture or "track is slightly wet" texture instead that would allow us to then jump between laps, i would be okay with it.

 

Now that we no longer have Renato's posts to anticipate upcoming news, I wonder in which direction the new developments are heading.

Reiza please, you absolutely need to add the option where hosts of a server can one-click kick ANYONE they want on a server, whether in the lobby or while opening the menu during a practice, qualifying, race, anywhere.
