There hasn't been any news about career mode for a while, hopefully we'll see it this year as described in the roadmap on the site. I still think that single player is the most attractive part of AMS2. iRacing announced career mode, for some reason it amuses me, because I expected this mode from AMS2 (10 years in Azkaban), but not from iRacing at all :) I saw career mode in the main menu, but I haven't seen any messages about it on this forum for almost 2 years.

The most likely TL,DR - when the AI will be completely done.

Career mode has been mentioned a couple times to be added at the very end of AMS2's development, so when all content they want to add has been added, i really wouldn't count on it coming this year TBH.

From the recent Overtake interview with Renato:
""It was always said that there will be a career mode in Automobilista 2, which is a way to connect all this assorted content that we have", explained Simioni. "That's why we need other content in there, and that is why it's going to be one of the last things we do." Patience is needed, then, as Simioni points out: "I don't expect it will see the light of day in 2025."

I am going to feel so heartbroken when development ends for AMS2. One of the most meaningful racing games I have ever played!

I know the focus for this year and early 2026 is gonna be Le Mans and the current IMSA championship. But is there any chance for the GTE or even the DPi classes to receive more content in the future?

Looking at what we already have, and the upcoming career mode, what we need is some of the under populated series filling out.

If an Historic career mode is intended we need a lot more content for that to be possible.

Apart from rallye which I can't see happening we have just about every class of racing covered at various levels, the biggest gap being touring cars.

Something else I think could be popular but definitely not a priority for me personally, would be a tourist version of Nords and perhaps a Nords tourist car pack.

Right now, AMS does have a couple of blind spots. Touring cars just in general, mid range open wheeler from 70-90's, GT cars from the 1990's and 2000's (not including GT1 because those are prototypes and you won't change my mind).

We're pretty well stocked for the top levels of racing, but for a career mode centered around working your way up through a specific era in racing, we're missing a lot of those necessary steps of a ladder...
    For example...
1960s goes from Mini Coopers to Formula JR to F1
2000 goes from GT1 to CART to F1
So safe to assume a lot of stuff is yet to get filled out here.

Agree, and I would also add that a modern F4 / F3 / F2 is needed to properly simulate career mode like “road to F1”.

In that regard there would have to be an F2 type car for F-Retro, Classic, and Modern because now only F-Vintage has the F-Vintage Junior as an F2 car.

I think a F3000 car would be suitable for the 1980's and 1990's (and as a Jr Indycar too if it had a oval kit)

F5000 would be suitable for the 1970’s (Just a heavier and clumiser F1 car)

And then we just need a modern, halo equipped F2/F3 we already have the Brazilian F3 for the 2000's ish

So realistically we're talking about 3 to (x) cars

Its also worth noting, the open wheeled ladder as we know it now f4-f1 just didn't exist until recently. There's a huge roster of Jr. Formulas to pick from thought time, like F3000 and F5000 which were properly fast race cars on their own right, but still below F1.

Agree with you, the only other car I would consider to add to your list would be the F-Atlantic which were lighter / less powerful than the F5000/F2, but more powerful and heavier than F3 and could also be in the career ladder. Regarding modern formula, I believe a “Road to F1 pack” DLC would sell a lot and would provide more revenue for Reiza for them to slowly focus more on the gaps of historical less popular feeder series. It’s worth saying that I’m already really happy with current selection though, there’s enough categories in the sim for me to race for the next decade.:)

If the late 70's formula Atlantic made it to AMS2 (I'm not holding my breath), I'd be delighted.
The Indy NXT car would also be a nice addition.
