I don't know if it's just a placebo, but I feel like I get better frame times with VR and fewer occasional frame drops after the update. I checked Quest 3 performance overlay and even thou the headroom goes down to a couple of percent, it really holds the framerate well and doesn't drop frames.

It's not placebo, it's probably because of "Implemented level-of-detail crossfades in the renderer for foliage and grass shaders". I also noticed the difference in VR performance.

Hi there, after the last patch I've suddenly lost a lot of fps on VR.

I have a 4090 and HP Reverb G2, always around 90fps with ultra settings before the patch, obviously using open composite (and obviously many less fps at night and night+rain).

Since yesterday, no matter what I do or messing around with options (scaling resolution, lowering details, etc) it seems I can't get more than 50-60 fps both day (i.e. hi tech f1 at Interlagos) or night (i.e. gt3 at nurburgring).

It goes up to 65 or 70 fps when Im not surranded by other cars, but I can cleary see and feel the lack of smoothness. It's quite quite annoying as I have no idea what to do...any help??

    Thank you in advance.

I also got fps drops, for example at interlagos there are a couple of corners where stutter appears that wasn't there before, specially at sunset. Maybe the new road reflection? (Which also looks a bit exaggerated to me personally). I have AMD 6950xt, quest3

Yesterday, after a month of not using AMS2 and after the last update, the game did not load in vr but only on the PC monitor.
I use the Quest 3 with Quest link

Always done and always chosen "play as oculus vr".
It used to work but now, I don't know if it's because of the ams2 update or the quest 3 firmware, it doesn't start in vr anymore

With quest3 and everything up to date I don't have that problem. Oculus software is unstable to say the least, I would maybe just reinstall it, or Ams2 if that doesn't work.

But this 3 works with EA WRC and LMU.
AMS2 I checked the files with Steam and it said everything was ok.

    Hello,
What are your in-game settings and SteamVR resolution? I'm also with PSVR2, and I want to optimize it as best as I can.

    Been wondering....
Will DFR be a thing at some point ?
Highend headset are becoming a thing and I think DFR would be a great addition to the game.
what do think about it ?

Automobilista 2 needs Quad Views Foveated Rendering including indeed dynamic FR, but even without that Quad Views FR will be the most wished feature for VR. This works with and without eye tracking:

@ the developers(absolute must check! if you didn't already): https://github.com/mbucchia/Quad-Views-Foveated

According to Matthieu Bucchianeri it's only a couple of days work for a good developer to implement it and the performance gains are massive:
This software technology could double or even triple the fps/frame times in VR without any downsides and it's completely free code.

It's an absolute must have feature for AMS2. iRacing just got Quad Views implemented in their sim and so did Microsoft Flight Simulator recently and so did Richard Burns Rally. DCS has it already for years and that's one of the main reason(maybe even THE) that the VR performs that good in DCS.

This is by far my most wished feature for AMS2. In the LMU forum there's an petition going on about it to raise awareness about the importance of this feature.

I think that it's the most underrated feature ever for VR. If the dev's themselves are overwhelmed by the code/information then please contact Matthieu Bucchianeri, he WILL help if you ask him friendly, he's a great guy. I had good contact with him in the past, he's very helpful. Any contact with him about this will be a great benefit for Reiza and all AMS2 VR users.

Aero, Crystal, Quest Pro and VR1. Are they the headsets with eye tracking?
(excl. PSVR2 as it isn't PCVR compatible, and Beyond2 as that's done with ai and not fast enough for game play)

Pimax crystal OG and Super both have eye tracking (toby version). For the others, I couldn't tell.
PSVR2: I read somewhere that compatible pcvr eyetracking is being worked on, but to take with a grain of salt....

PSVR2 doesn't go high resolution when you super-sample it anyway. It's too low resolution with the blur filter on. When it first got PC drivers I ran it at around 6000x6000 to see if it went sharp and it didn't change much from running half that.

Basically the only current headset capable is Crystal Super, The rest are discontinued or are low sale numbers.

Hello everyone, I have a question about the HUD elements in VR.

I play exclusively in VR and I've noticed that the HUD elements—like the virtual mirror and other overlays—appear very small and uncomfortably close to my eyes. I often find myself squinting just to look at them which really make me uncomfortable and affects the overall experience.

I came across an older post on Steam where someone mentioned that you can go to Session Options > Edit HUD Layout and press Numpad 0 to toggle between moving elements and resizing/rotating them then using +/- to resize the virtual mirror and HUD other elements. I tried that method, but unfortunately, it didn’t work for me.

Is there any current way to adjust the size or depth of the HUD elements in VR? Any tips or updated guidance would be greatly appreciated!
