    Greetings everyone!

    We are in final preparations for the next update of Automobilista 2 as V1.6.6 is expected to be released tomorrow (July 30); this will be accompanied by two new DLCs, Endurance Pack Pt3 & Nürburgring 2025.

    Let´s have a look into what´s included in each of these DLCs as well as the improvements to be expected from the update itself!

    Endurance Pack Pt3
    18.jpg

    The third installment of our Endurance series adds a new batch of prototype and GT machinery to our ever-growing roaster – this time it is Aston Martin making its grand debut in AMS2, with the pack featuring no less than four formidable models from the prestigious British manufacturer.

    Starting with the latest V12 sensation: the Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar has been delivering stunning sights and sounds on both sides of the Atlantic this season, although it still gaining speed in the ultra-competitive GTP / LMDh classes it has already won the hearts of racing fans all over.
    14.jpg

    There will be a splash of British Racing Green to the GT3 & GT4 classes as well with the latest Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo & Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo respectively.

    Rolling back the clock a bit to 2020 for the amazing Aston Martin Vantage V8 joining the GTE class – still alive and awesome in AMS2!
    4 (1).jpg

    It is not all about the Astons in Endurance Pack Pt3 however as the light & nimble Alpine A110 GT4 Evo is a fresh pretty new face and also joining the GT4 class as its 9th contender.
    17.jpg

    Finally, the Ligier JS2-R as for now the sole contender in the new Ligier European Series - watch this space as there is more to come here!
    Reiza.dvd Screenshot 2025.07.28 - 15.14.11.57.jpg

    These are the six models making the Endurance Pack Pt3 in its initial release; the pack will sell for US$ 9,99 or the equivalent regional conversion; as usual the cars will have a free trial period in the first few days following their release before reverting to being exclusive to owners of the DLC, so don´t miss out on the opportunity to make they´re worth the extra bucks!

    Nürburgring 2025 & Nurburgring 2020 Overhaul
    ss111218.jpg
    AMS2 is all about providing a diverse range of motorsports experiences, and it could never really deliver without featuring the ultimate driving challenge - the infamous Green Hell.

    There was of course already an initial stab at the Nürburgring back in 2020 with the release of the Nürburgring Pack featuring the modern layouts; a couple of years later the Reiza track team revisited the Eifel Mountains, this time travelling back to the 1971 to produce the most detailed historical version of the Nürburgring, complete with the legendary Sudschleife , fulfilling the original DLC.
    ss105827.jpg

    The plan however had always been to revisit the modern track at some point and give it a top-to-bottom overhaul, as the original was produced quite early on and it was based off a fairly rough mesh to begin with; we knew we wanted to do the track proper justice in AMS2; The reform to the real track earlier this year along with the renewal of our licensing agreement presenting an opportunity for fresh scan data, this seemed like the right time to tackle the Green Hell again.
    ss094939.jpg

    Just like the 1971 project back in 2023, the 2025 overhaul proved especially laborious given the size of the track and the sheer amount of details in and around it; once again however our track team couldn´t help but go the distance, which result hopefully you all can get a sense for in the previews here.

    The project basically covers two fronts, with the 2020 layouts from the original Nürburgring Pack receiving all the main terrain 3D mesh updates as well as some of the artwork development – the 2020 track update will be free to everyone who already own the original DLC; Nürburgring 2025 featuring all the latest renovations done to the facility as well as the complete art overhaul in turn will be sold as its own standalone DLC for US$ 7.99 or the equivalent regional conversion.
    ss100831.jpg
    Two things that won´t make this release but that are still planned for subsequent updates for the track and the game are a "joker" shortcut" to skip the out lap, and a Tourist layout option so the track can be experiecend as it is by those visiting it in real life

    Check the third post in this thread to learn more about the differences between the 2020 & 2025 versions of the track.

    Multiplayer Revisions
    9.jpg
    We are currently in the process of performing various Multiplayer code structural improvements & corrections which hopefully will further improve reliability of MP sessions in AMS2.

    Stage 1 of this overhaul will already be integrated into the next release, and they include fixes for at least one known cause of sessions getting stuck in transition, and an optimized packet transfer during either host migration and / or around the end of a MP sessions, both of which should greatly reduce chances of mass disconnections or mass lags in either scenarios.

    Further development may be expected follow on this front over the next few months.

    For the complete changelog for other developments in V1.6.6 check the post below.

    Nürburgring 2020 vs Nürburgring 2025
    ss111621.jpg
    These are some of the most notable layout differences between the 2020 and 2025 models:
    • Smooth pavement/different camber at path from Dottinger Hohe through Tiergarten into the GP circuit, last corner of GP circuit and entrance to the Nordschleife;
    • Hatzenbach curb extensions;
    • Curb extension on the curb between Schwedenkreuz and Aremberg;
    • New pavement at Foxhole with smoothed out bumps and different cambers, as well as new curbs and drainage gutters alongside the track at Foxhole;
    • Smooth tarmac section at Adenauer Forst;
    • Tarmac change at Miss-hit-miss which has a bump that was quite unsettling the car in 2020, is smoother in 2025
    • Changes to exit curb at Bergwerk;
    • New tarmac and camber at "Porsche killer corner" as well as new exit curb;
    • Changes to curb at Hohe Acht;
    • Ribbed curb extension on the leftside curb at Wippermann;
    • New gravel and small curb extension at Brunnchen exit;
    • New tarmac section from Eiskurve to Pflanzgarten II - smooth camber to Eiskurve to avoid car tripoding, smoothing out various bumps and smoother jump at Pflanzgarten;
    • New gravel and curb extension at exit of Eiskurve;
    • New curb extension and drainage at the exit of Pflanzgarten I;
    • Various road patches at Dottinger hohe and between Bergwerk and Steilstrecke;
    • New road exit for tourist parking (visual, but non functional);
    • Extended track width and limits at Hohenrain;
    • New curbs at the T13
    Other changes to the 2025 track include new speakers and digital flag poles around the Nordschleife, a few extra buildings and track side objects (benches at the Brunnchen, intech containers), new adverts on the GP circuit and new adverts on the bridges and corner signs, solar panels at T13 grandstand.

    "You know the track you already bought? Now you have to buy it again lolz"

    EDIT: Well, my comment was rather harsh, and after thinking about this new DLC further and longer, I no longer believe my initial comment was appropriate or warranted. I'd like to apologize to Reiza, since having this as the first comment from a fan in the entire thread doesn't make the update (or this community) look great. Especially when it's only related to one part of the update. Because the new cars do look very interesting and fun to drive indeed!

    My opinion on the new Nurburgring DLC hasn't completely changed though. It is a good thing that Reiza are updating the old DLC so it includes the improvement from the new version - and for free.

    Still, I can't help but think this is a bit of a dissapointment on two fronts, and I'm going to explain it like I'm a Youtuber doing a video essay because actual criticism is a lot better and constructive than "Haha dumb!" :

    1 - Two DLCs for the full Nurburgring experience.

    I don't like that to get the full Nurburgring for Automobilista 2 (and by that I mean all the layouts), you need to buy two different DLCs. Unless you read their description on their store page, it is really easy to assume that either one of them offer the full experience. Especially if you are new fan who sees a video or other content on the 1970s layout and think "I want to drive there, let me buy this layout!", go on Steam and buy the Nurburgring DLC, load it up only to realise that oops - the 1970s layout isn't from this DLC, you have to buy another one!

    And I'm speaking from experience there. That very thing happened to me for the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. There is a Catalunya DLC available on Steam. But, if you want the 1991 layout, you need to buy the Historical Track Part 2. Seeing as I wanted to play through an early 1990s F1 season, it felt like a bit of a slap in the face when I found out.

    Now, I'm not sure how this could realistically be solved. I wrote like three paragraphs on how Reiza could have merged both Nurburgring DLCs, sold it at a higher price and offered a discount to owners of the old DLC to upgrade for cheaper, but the more I wrote about it the more it felt like a lot of behind the scene work on Reiza's part for not a big difference in pricing for the consumer. It would avoid the confusion for future buyers though.

    Then again, with the next point, maybe this wouldn't be needed anyway because even the "casual" owners of the old DLC could find something new and interesting in the new DLC that makes it worth buying.

    2 - No "new" additional layout.

    Yes, the 2025 version is different from the 2020 version. But, unless you are a hardcore simracer or just very knowledgable in this circuit, you probably won't notice a difference (post-update) if you move from 2020 to 2025, or vice versa. I think this could have been a great opportunity to add a layout or two that have yet to be seen in Automobilista 2. For instance: the 2001 layout of the circuit. I'm not even talking about the entire Nurburgring Nordscheife, but just the Nurburgring in its 2001 configuration with the old Castrol-S chicane. Or the 1994 configuration with the old Veedol-Schikane. I think just adding these two different versions would have made the second Nurburgring worth its price and given something new to those who are on the fence about buying it.

    I would certainly buy a Nurburgring DLC that includes new historical layouts! But a new DLC whose main difference between it and the old one are prettier and more accurate scenery? No thanks.

    In the end, this is one opinion in an ocean of others, so its not very important and easily forgettable. But I still felt like sharing it because I'm that kind of person I guess.

    Great work!
    Can't wait to drive the Alpine!
    Although having to pay again for the latest version of the Nurbugring kinda sucks.

    A bit surprised we have to pay for the 2025 Nords update even if we already own the Nürburgring Pack. I understand it must have taken a lot of work, but I wasn't expecting that.

    Is it fully laser scanned ?

    You don´t ever "have" to buy anything, it´s all a choice that you can take or leave - everyone who did buy the original however will get a massive update for it resulting from months of man-hours free of charge irrespective if they buy the new version or not; awesome isn´t it ;)

    If the 24-hour variant of the Grand Prix circuit could be shortened to start a new lap, the biggest criticism of the entire circuit would be eliminated. That would be the best day in the whole game.
    I think the price is fair, considering how much work went into it. However, maybe it could be made more accessible for people who already own the standard Nürburgring DLC. A small discount for the 2025 DLC would be a good idea. Still, I'm happy to pay for it to support you. This is just a suggestion.

    People in simracing spending literally thousands on their rig but a few bucks for a track to actually use their hardware on is too much to ask lol

    Whatever guys, I spend 500hrs on AMS2 this last year and about 5k on my rig .. I've decided very early on to support these awesome developers and their continuous updates by sending a little money their way in exchange for solid DLC and more updates thank you very much.

    Cant wait to try the Valkyrie btw!

    Top content, thank you for your dedication and affection for Ams 2, I know that for now the attention should be on this content, but could you give us more information about what to expect from the next development period? I have no requests, it's just curiosity!

    I have one more question. Will the exact changelog with the precise changes be available today? Or will it come with the release tomorrow?

    I agree to a point, I must admit I am disappointed that I have to pay for the Nurbugring 2025 version, but we are getting a free update to the 2020 version and the 2025 version seems like it will be worth the price and let's not forget we can drive on it in multi-player for free. One true negative about this is that it will make buying DLC even more confusing for new comers.

    Having a imsa pack is a great idea, I think some of the older DLC'S need merging and repacking, and older versions discontinued.(if possible) The DLCs are becoming very convoluted.

    Endurance pack 3 looks like a nice set of cars although nothing that gets me personally excited.The Historic Le Mans content is what I am waiting for, so probably another 6 month wait at least.

    I'm very happy to read that the outlap shortcut and tourist layout is in the plans for the future!
    Hopefully one day also the classic historic version without the Mercedes Arena, who knows?
