Automobilista 2 July 2025 Development Update

Yes it's Thurday 31st 20:21 and I finally found some time to have a look at it... but it's gone.

 

A few hours ago I downloaded an update twice and I see that everything is still active.

 

Regarding the nurb 2025 update : one must not blame Reiza. Reiza is not EA. Is a little team and they surely need money to develop, strengthen themselves. it’s true that the update could have been free, but to improve, money is needed and I find that Reiza did the right thing. You will see when other developers, who have bigger means, release updates at 25, 30 or even 40 euros and that these will not be good qualities, but that you will buy anyway...

 

For those who complain about the slippery tires and car, do you happen to play in "windows" or "Borderless" mode?

 

So far, I enjoy the update. I hope they will tweak a little bit the gt3 evo physic and sound in their next hotfix. This car need some love.

Thank god! Imagine this: 7,99$ for every single 'car skin', GT3 Gen2 only for 'premium members' with a monthly subscription and if you want to be somewhat competitive, you need to grind for lootboxes containing random vehicle upgrades.

 

On my system played "full screen" mode have less input lag and control of the car is more easy and great feeling.

 

Overal another high quality dlc, especially impressed with the French car marques and of course the AM Hypercar. Nurburgring I feel has been nailed, thanks guys can't wait for the rest of it. I haven't had the time for a full multiclass race so I'm looking forward to testing the AI updates on Sunday. When is NASCAR content - either cars or tracks - planned for, anyone know?

 

Nordschleife old 2020 vs 2025

 

Someone really needs to post a video of the new combined GP-Nords at night...

 

Working on that right now. Also as a comparison the 2020 vs 2025 at night.

Yeah, there‘s so much more going on trackside in the 2025 version, it‘s completely different, the lit carousel at night, all the tents and new buildings, kerbs etc.

 

Yeah, that was I meant mostly, a video focusing on the festivities going on at night etc. Tried to do a video myself yesterday in VR, but for some reason my device is not working properly. Will probably do a monitor version instead.

 

The only thing that I find lacking in AMS2 is that the trackside ligthing at night (cars, vans, trailers, pits, buildings etc) isn't bright/emissive enough.

 

I also think the sky isn’t dark enough when its midnight

 

Because this was mentioned a few times here I tested it three days ago: If you set the weather to "clear", choose the 31st of July, drive at night on the Nordschleife it's getting so dark that you can barely see the white lines at the sides of the track. You have to switch off your headlights ofc. ;-) When I watched my recording on my TV, it was a bit brighter. I could see the track. On my PC and my smartphone, though, I saw the same as when I was driving: not much.
So I think it depends on one's settings.
Edit: Not only the ingame settings e.g. clouds or time of day but also one's monitor settings.

 

Totaly agree with this. But i think it's Madness Engine related.
The new Nurb is great but at night when you pass near the trailers , vans etc etc the light seems to glow from the textures and it's this light seems to be "off" and bland, i don't know how explain it properly , my English is still a work in progress.

But even the leds on the wheels , leds panels across the circuits , etc etc all this at night lack brigthness . But again i think it's engine related , and i don't know if the Reiza team can do anything about this.

 

It would be good if the graphics guys could add camera flashes in the crowd, its feels weird to drive Nords at night in this new version with no cameras flashing in the crowds.

Surely an easy addition
