    Update:

    * Simpler rack control, closer to Default, but with LFB "bug" fix/road details.
    * Friction added & set to 15%. Wip, will be improved a little later.

The general idea for the "big file" will change to lean more towards "Default", but with many improvements and fun things in place(LFB "bug" fix, road details, road detection, smoothing, friction, scrub, kerbs, weights, optimal ffb non-clip, no-ffb-scale, dynamic engine vibes, rolling road effect, smart sliders, etc etc..). Right now it might feel worse than Default to some, but that's in the minor adjustments to make better, just takes a few iterations :).

Needs adjustments, is wip, weights still not adjusted perfectly. This will come.
(Might find time for dampening in the weekend... Would be fun)

Btw: If anybody feels like pitching in directly on the file, it sits in Github & I will be happy to share access. Just post me a direct message. The more the merrier :)

    Custom ffb file attached "Friction":

    Hi All,

I am experiencing FFB deadzone issues at the center of the wheel

I am on a G29, the wheel and FFB is great except when the wheel is centered: there is no FX and the wheel feels 'dead' on straights. I use very high settings for FX (85) with no clipping (monitoring for them with a specific tool)

Overall my settings for FFB are 65/80/85 for Gain/Sub/FX

Is this something that other people experience?
    It is already known problem?
Anyway I can report the bug?

    Thanks
    G.

LFB generates a little Minforce, but you can set it in custom ffb file in documents folder to the correkt value.
    WheelCheck.exe

I can't upload it, but you will find it in the web.

    Hi Manuel,

    thanks for the reply.

I am on Linux via Proton, not sure what WheelCheck.exe is, but I'll peek in the various dirs and online. And report back

    Cheers

Absolutely true, and I never said you weren't. But you yourself were specifically asking people not to post a particular type of view / criticism. That's trying to control the discussion.

But hey, my post promoting the freedom of speech, freedom to criticise, and freedom to post opinions has received only dislike reactions. I guess that shows what kind of society we live in, huh? Damn sheeple these days. So do what you like. I'm done here.

    Hey Goffik,

No worries, I respect your opinions. Not everything comes through in the posts we make & we all misunderstand each other in so many ways. You are right that my ask to stay in a productive tone can be read as controlling, but really, it was just an ask that I think would help to avoid the route that ends in you/me finger pointing. Anybody can disagree to my ask, just as you did. Yes, I(or others that agree to that) might not personally like that, but that is all. I have no hard feelings for anything you've said & I hope likewise.

I would like to add that you've contributed equally greatly yourself here with opinions, feedback and your thoughts on many issues. To me that is the main point of being here. Forget the actual files really. It's the interaction with like-minded that counts to me & it would really be a shame to see you leave. I really mean that. I hope to see you posting again soon!

    Cheers

    Hey Alegunner & @F.Santos ,

Here no_scale_ffb is now bug fixed.

FYI: Friction is at 15% in the file, which depending on your settings outside the game might be too high.

    Fixed no_scale_ffb "Friction" file:

To be fair, at the time @Goffik and I posted about this, the problems stated were an issue in your file. It wasn't until your later posts where you increased rack_scale that it was fixed, prior tho that the rack force was ~10% lower than default. And without my sigmoid clipping function some people would have still experienced clipping / force flat spots with rack_force at 1.0 and 100% gain.

I'm not sure why you got so defensive about it, maybe I could have pointed out the issue in a different way?

Karsten, thanks for another file mate! The weightlessness is definitely gone, but the overall feel is not right. The heaviness felt now from this file in every car is like a separated belt movement which doesn't match the swerve weight from side to side.

I've been using Nus latest file and the impression that I get switching between his and default is that in one I have scrub, track details and kerbs and the other not (Reiza's), but the same ffb. In yours, I get kerbs coming through slightly different(adjustable), but also a car rolling feel down the straight that I like, but the weight of the car still not right.

Ahh, yes you are right, thanks!
I know what is wrong. Will fix!

In your first post you claimed the weaker signal was due to method, which it was not. Weights & Sigmoid is apples to oranges.
There was no "issue" in the method of the file.

Based on the "too weak" feedback I strengthened it. Unrelated to the Sigmoid function, but sure it's a nice addition.

I will happily elaborate if that is required at a later time.

    Cheers

    Hello,
here are the FFB-File in german. I have translated it with goolge, but many things are not realy plausible or korrect translatet. Rack are "Zahnstange der Lenkung" and not only Rack.
I hope to help the germans to find better settings and we all get a better understanding for this extrem opportunities, what this engine brings us and this file.
Btw. i don't change the values, its only a changing of the language.

    Thank you!

    Hay Manuel,

    Cool stuff!

Be advised that there currently is a minor issue with the file & I will post you the fix when done.
Also there is the "small file" done by @NuScorpii that has another feel to it, that you might want as well!

    Cheers!

Nice of you to say, but no thanks :) I'm simply having fun.

But maybe @NuScorpii can be that :)

This time, i have the best feeling with the G27-Profile with my SimuCUBE.
How can i port that values to the custom file, because, i want modifie it, to learn and improve.

If i use that, it is not the same.

    (road_rumble_fx (if wheeltype_g25_g27_g920 0.0 road_rumble_fx))
    (scrub_scale_front (if wheeltype_g25_g27_g920 0.3 scrub_scale_front))
    (scrub_scale_rear (if wheeltype_g25_g27_g920 0.2 scrub_scale_rear))
    (kerbs_weight (if wheeltype_g25_g27_g920 0.7 kerbs_weight))

    (road_rumble_weight (if wheeltype_dd 0.3 road_rumble_weight))
    (road_rumble_weight (if wheeltype_csw_csl 0.3 road_rumble_weight))
    (road_rumble_weight (if wheeltype_tspc 0.3 road_rumble_weight))
    (road_rumble_weight (if wheeltype_t300 0.3 road_rumble_weight))
    (road_rumble_weight (if wheeltype_g25_g27_g920 0.2 road_rumble_weight))

Or get i an copy from G27, when i delete it?

Oh man, I'd heard AMS2 worked with Proton, but as a massive Linux fan (ElementaryOS is my daily driver) you now have me wanting to drop PopOS on my gaming rig to give it a try on Linux! :D

    Hi,

just to report back on the issue of 'dead' FFB at center of the wheel with G29
    I modified the min_force value 0.00 -> 0.08
After testing various values (0.005 to 0.10) now the wheel/FFB behaves correctly at center/straights

Tested with various cars (F309 dallara, SuperV8, ..) and tracks and without bumping up the min_force essentially the motor of the wheel 'turns off' at center. This happens irrespective of the values of the 3 sliders (Gain/Sub/Fx). Any small deviation from the center and FFB kicks in, beautifully detailed.

Not sure if others with 'week' wheels have the same problem or could confirm if some adjustment is beneficial for them too. On my end it would be great if Reiza could fix the problem in one of the next patches

    Thanks
    G

I think G29 are better, but with a G27 you can use up to 16%.
Test it, set it to 30% and during driving, you feel in the middle a click, right or left, but not 12 o clock / the middle. Then, reduce the value more and more, till you don't feel it.
Its not much work and after some restarts of AMS2, yoh have it and this value are the right for all games, that have got an option for minforce.
