Great video and I am glad Reiza did not use it as inspiration for the location of the cockpit cam ;)

Wonder what the driver really sees in that video! The viewable area seems super small with the seat so far and the windshield so small and that wiper in the middle (have no idea why it rests there instead of the side). And these characteristics sorts of made their way into AMS2 but unlike reality we can push the seat position much forward to see something.

They dont see very much indeed. In this video the camera is under the visor of the helmet, but it's shows how poor is the visibility.

I understand the driving position is placed far back to help the car's centre of gravity, but is there a point where the restricted visibility begins to affect lap times?

Lol, this driver should adjust his fov.
Seems to be very low focal length and so a very distorted perspective.;)

It's kind of a bad example... the video shows a wide angle camera, exposure/sky brightness and white balance blooms the external scenery, the camera motion with its shutter speed creates another layer of motion blur the driver doesn't have, the eyes and neck automatically adjust in real time for each bounces where the camera can't absorb such motion making everything worse.

Thats the only video on internet with a helmet camera. I think it's pretty obvious that the vision is terrible in the real car taking in consideration that the drivers eyes is only a inch above that. That's the point.

Not a Helmet camera but it clearly shows how far back Rubens is sitting in the car:

I love the sound of those stock cars, but driving them on a monitor (not VR) the drivers do sit very far back in real life... which makes the driving experience in the sim not that great. In VR, it's not as bad.

I use the 2020 Toyota quiet often and don’t have a problem while using the monitor. But I also think you have to give it time to get used to it. On a side note, my lap times are still bad regardless of the view

I think we all know that cameras don't give a proper perspective of what the driver actually sees. If I was to do something similar with my roadcar it would not look the same as I see when I actually drive.

Depends on what its going to be. Tbh the MP "issues" made some of our races a bit annoying so Im hoping for some of those fixes or QOL. If by major update they mean just Hockenheim then not really :) its a great track but it wont solve things.

I bealive it won't be just it. I really hope they get championship to working properly and with other classes. Also would be nice to create or at least import our own livery, but I don't think it will be in the game any time soon...

I know its nit picking but just saw this picture on Reiza twitter and why does it still look like all F cars have positive front camber :( i wasnt in backer beta but read somewhere it was like that since beginnings.
