If I remember well, I believe someone mentioned that Nurburgring is one of the few tracks that own a set of laser scan data for their track and that is usually part of the licensing deals Nords owners make. In that case there is not much to borrow from any other sims, right?

Nearly the weekend... still no sign of the mystery car (no worries if it's not coming, I'm just really curious).

But it's exactly the same laser scan mesh is the point, because...

Same as the MSV tracks (Oulton, Donington, Brands, Cadwell, Snetterton).

What we want is to have this dynamic weather atmosphere associated with a feeling of quality behind the wheel, is the wish of a maximum of simulation pilot. If in addition Reiza offers us vintage versions (no graffiti on the track please, lol) it will be a big step towards theoretical perfection.

    partly right.
A lasers can is just the 3D mesh of the tarmac part with correct height and meassurement. Bumps and curbs and maybe a photographic texture.
You need the full environment, like buildings, signs, every little asset around the track. All the trees, bushes and others. To be accurate you'll have to place some 100.000 trees around the track. And you need textures for all of that.
You need some man years to create such a big track. The only difference to a not scanned track is the accuracy of the part where we can drive.
So don't think, you buy a laser scanned mesh and 3 weeks later you're ready to go.

A clean non-graffiti Nordschleife would be great. I am annoyed by graffiti. Racing Nord for months or years but the graffiti ingame always stays the same.

Nice, seems to be taken from the same map. Personally, I have lost more cars at the SchwedenKreuz than at any other part of the Nordschleife :(

I sure agree... Not saying that it can be done easily or quickly, just saying that the part that counts most is available at the source.

They've been clear from the beginning that their track surface process is much different than that of PC2, so any time they borrow a track from PC2 it is only for track side objects/environment pieces. I see no reason why we wouldn't want them to save time using those objects, even if they want to re-texture them, while still using their own track surface technique. No reason to remodel and place all that stuff if they already have access to good quality assets.

Great work so far on AMS2.
I know this has been asked before but I have never seen a response from the Dev's regarding the Pimax VR headset and the need for removing the requirement to use Parallel Projections. I play exclusively in VR as do many and users of the Pimax would definitely appreciate AMS2 a lot more if they did not have to enable this to play. This is a major FPS killer so please let us know if this is on the roadmap anytime soon.

I third this :). Also enable dlss for vr to make the load on the GPUs that have this lower for a more clearer picture (especially distant)

Tried AMS2 today and to my surprise, I did not need to have PP enabled for it to work. :)
Was there a recent change that I didn't hear about? If so, thanks Devs for doing this.

Scratch that. It looks like PP was still turned on even though Pitool said that it was not. I rebooted my PC and AMS2, still requires PP :(
