I don't think F1 cars had power steering until the early 1990's, some even later than that.

Power steering was first introduced into the world of Formula 1 in 1988 by Ligier. However, not all teams were convinced by adding power steering to their cars. The reason for this was mainly because power steering was still very much in its testing phase in the sport

Even I set the in gane damper to zero and every settings just like yours, the klonk noise and awful feel around the wheel center is still here. Any ideas? I am using Logi DD as well.

Hi Pakhooooo, Logitech DD as well here. I had the same problem as yours this morning. I Finally switched AMS2 to official release, purged Mods and reinstalled. In default + The 'klonk' is still here but only with damping > zéro (was always here before even with damping null). It diseappears now with damping at zéro. I switched to custom until the damping is fixed.

Hope you guys DD GPRO owner can enjoy your wheel but this klonk issue and the really average quality of the bundled rim was too much of a let down for me:(

So it seems I am not alone. Did you switch to previous build to get rid of the klonk? Hopefully the devs knew about it.

Hello friends! Reiza announced that the physics will be adjusted again until update 1.5. So, unlike previously assumed, 1.4 is not the "final" physics. I think that will also give me new V80 Customs, but only after the physics update 1.5 (I assume this summer) In addition, I will get a Simucube Pro in the next few days. I think this will give me new information and feedback for the next Customs. Until then I wish you a nice time and enjoy your hobby simracing:)

Hey easy81! Yes, it will be very interesting because then I can compare the Fanatec dd1 with the Simucube 2 Pro 1 to 1. I think the more information, the better the result can be. Well, I'm very curious about the result;)

This idea may seem obvious (because it is)--and maybe everyone here already does it--but I'll suggest the idea anyway, as I found it helpful when recently comparing several custom-FFB files:

In addition to helping to manage custom liveries and AI files, etc. in the main AMS2 folder, a second copy of the evergreen utility JSGME can be extracted into the Documents\Automobilista 2 folder to organize and switch between various custom FFB files. Just put each ffb_custom_settings.txt file in its own folder (separated by version & author) within the Documents\Automobilista 2\mods folder and use JSGME to activate whichever one you want to test. Once set up, I found this much easier than manually transferring and overwriting different custom-FFB files during testing.

I take it you can`t switch them while the game is running ?

Sadly, I'm not aware of a method for hotswitching between FFB profiles in-game ... or if it's even possible.

By the way, for others' convenience, I already have numerous FFB files (all by other authors, like Daniel, tUMi, Manolo/Stakanov, etc.) separated into individual folders to expedite switching between them using JSGME. Is it permissible for me to post that here as a single download? I'll only include files that are already publically posted within this thread (and I can provide links to the authors' original posts), and I'll include all pertinent information about whose files are in my compendium. There were a few authors who provided updated in-game settings, so I added that information as a # line within those files, and all of Daniel's V70 files include the missing "right_bump_pos" line; otherwise, all the files are as-is. Sure, it wasn't that hard to sort them into separate folders, but if it's permissible to share, someone might find it of value.

hello John! Yes why not . There's no reason not to. If it becomes easier for people, that's a good thing:)
