@Renato Simioni Fantastic work you are doing , now I have shelved ACC after 1000 hours and run only on AMS2 Only thing I would like to ask : will you ever add the possibility in single player , to save ongoing sessions ? Doing races of two or more hours without being able to save , is really hard . I'm also trying LFM with AMS2 and I'm having a good time so far .

 

For info, loading a single race event with the C3 Corvette 100% crashes during loading.

 

Same combination crashed for me as well, bug splat sent.

 

If we follow that logic shoe soles are also engineered to slide because any sole, if you run too fast, will slip .

He is talking about the limit between where a car behaves in a favourable way and when it doesn't. How a driver manages slip, being on that knife edge to maximise what a given car can do is another discussion to saying that all cars, including road cars are engineered to slide.

If you present an engineer with a choice between more grip or more slide (less grip), I know which I think they'd choose especially in a road car that is not designed to be driven in anger.

Anyhow, I am aware this is probably my fault for being a pedant so I apologise for that, I think it's a semantic debate I started.

Of all the UI improvements done especially in the monitor/replay screen, there are two downgrades. In 1.5 you were able to clearly see who you are spectating, the gap they have to the car ahead and also behind. Plus on the left leaderboard it was highlighted in white who you are spectating, now the top has been completely removed which was previously an ON/OFF toggle and on the left you cannot see who you are following either unless you really squint to see the fainth shadow behind the driver's name.

 

Didn`t really care for the massive TIME REMAINING box if they could just highlight it in the standings.

No, he's talking specifically - and at great length - about making the car slide to drive faster. He describes 4 hypothetical drivers to that end. A who drives under the limit. B who drives faster and experiences some sliding, C who goes over the limit too far and slides too much, and D who uses sliding to get the fastest lap times. Sliding. He's clear, not slip angle. Every car being driven at any speed gets slip. He's clear. Practically every other word : Slide, slide, slide, sliding, slide, sliding, slide, slide for 20 minutes. I saw your other reply and knew I couldn't show you something with someone mentioning slide once. I had to find something that made it clear over and over. And you still rejected it. I can only suggest watching it again with a view that you're not being pedantic but your belief is flawed.

Confusing for some, perhaps is you can think you're fast driving like B - I mean you're leaving anyone driving like A for dead and you're as fast as the hooligan at C who is visibly losing control and fighting the car. You have the double advantage over C that by not pushing too hard you can be more consistent than them, get less tyre wear etc - so over many laps you'd likely beat them. You probably never see any Ds. But it's still slow compared with D.

And saying cars are engineered to slide doesn't mean instead of gripping. I wasn't suggesting they are going to lubricate the tyres or forgo an opportunity for more grip. But grip is finite. It means cars are designed with the limits of friction in mind so that they slide when they run out of grip. Consider what the alternative to sliding would be when you ran out of grip. Cars slide - and specifically the fastest way to drive them means sliding.

Sliding isn't a bug it's a feature.

Reiza please for the love of all that is holy, is it possible to significantly decrease the necessary distance of cars during a rolling start or restart ? People online and especially LFM are exploiting the big gap a player is allowed to have, and are ruining races for everyone else and causing many incidents.
Edit: DazzyD70 are you one of those who exploit this if you disagree ?

Also worth noting, the .CRD for the Camaro ZL1 states that it's class is "Stock_USA Gen 3"

 

Put together a picture what is what, at least i think these are the correct cars attached, and the Le Mans 2005 comparison to current, the only real layout difference is the first chicane, rest of the 24H layout is the same, of course differences will be mainly in aesthetics !

Glad to know he you guys found each other. There were many cars and tracks that were too much for me prior to the update. Now I gain confidence in car after car. I find time to race every day now!
