Anyone knows if Reiza is working on drivers use different compounds of tires and different strategies?

 

You mean the early car and the late season car?
Why not just install the skins for the 1983 season and get these two:

 

With v1.6 Reiza learned a lesson - never say what you are doing, just present it when it's done.
In a few months, the same people will be back but asking a different question: "what the h*ll is Reiza doing? Say something!!"

I tried both these some more today, and if someone told me the BT52 was the unsuccessful one, I would believe them! The Model 3 Turbo brakes better, turns better, handles better...whatever Piquet did to drive the 52, he did amazing. Actually wikipedia said the car was 'easy to drive' lol. It kills it on the straight though, I'll give it that

I believe the anticipation around version 1.6 was fueled by the developer blog posts and feedback from beta testers. There was virtually no marketing, yet it worked remarkably well, doubling or even tripling the player base. However, I’m not sure staying silent would generate the same level of hype again.

 

Imagine having this type of upgrade at hand for months and being unable to speak and convey how significant change it was to the wider (growingly doubtful and restless) audience for such a long time

 

I fear that will be the lesson but it's worth remembering there are different people. Ones who understand that a plan is not a promise and can deal with that info and ones who can't. And a whole spectrum in-between. Sadly, I think the loudest ones that didn't get it mean those of us outside beta will no longer receive any information and the lesson taken is the one you describe.

That said, Reiza have worked miracles with the game in 2024 and I can't wait to find out what sportscar and vintage content they've been cooking up for 2025! Onwards and upwards.

Nope.

There's a 'Racin USA Part 4' they said would be made but it was never part of the original set in the season pass (actually, I think it was originally only described as one) and there were a few Season Pass things that were named Part 1, but Part 2 isn't in the pass.

So they don't owe anyone anything at this point.

Still looking forward to what they are doing!

 

I'm gonna be honest here, as someone is is far too active here than they should be... I'd much rather have there be less hype then have the constant moans and groans about "poor communication", the endless "jokes" about 1.6 releasing in 2025, or worst of all the fear-mongering about AC Evo, LMU, etc. It made this place kinda suck to be at during the 1.6 cycle especially as someone who was in the beta (I can only imagine how much worse it felt if you were an actual dev...).

I also really question if 1.6 truly lived up to the level of hype it gained just judging by the reaction of the fourm and general simracing community as time has gone on. That isn't to say the reception wasn't mostly positive, it absolutely was (and rightfully so). However I feel there is a lot of "it's better BUT..." in the general sentiment, more than what one may expect from the outside looking in considering how long the 1.6 "hype cycle" (for lack of a better phrase) dragged on. I don't think it's directly Reiza's fault (there are plenty of valid critisms after all) but instead it's the nature of a half-a-year+ hype cycle.

Radiohead's In Rainbows had no hype behind it and is now consider a classic, Kendrick Lamar's GNX had very little hype behind it and it's still a very well-liked and popular album. BeamNG doesn't do half-a-year hype cycles to generate the hype they do, infact some of the biggest and most exciting additions (IE, rally mode and career mode) are barely mentioned. I think Reiza should take a page out of Beams book, maybe drop a screenshot or a silly skit hyping up a single new feature or piece of content a few weeks before release but that's it. I really don't think more is needed, Beam.NG didn't even mention the addition of the new rally mode and it still made a splash. Imagine if Reiza did something like that with the career mode... I for one feel like it would be a highlight of the year, much like how I feel about Beam.NG's.

 

Adrenaline pack part 2 and Racin' USA part 4 have both been confirmed by Renato to be coming and that they will be part of the original season pass, Racin' USA part4 i think was mentioned because part 3 was a bit lackluster in terms of content.

So technically they do owe the people that bought the original pass these 2 packs, as they have been told by Renato they will both be part of the season pass.

I'd assume those 2 will have some priority now, as both were initially planned to be released in 2024, but that was before the IMSA partnership, which they probably needed to get content out for first because of an agreement.

 

That will always be there as a significant portion of the louder commentators on socials will only accept clones of their favorite sim. And even if that happened they would still say "but but but... I will stick to the original which is better".
It's the way it is in this simracing playground.
Honestly the combination of LFM and v1.6 has consistently brought the recurring users in the surroundings of 2k players a day. It would have taken a wild imagination when the cycle started to foresee this happening.
Interestingly, even though in the past weeks pretty much every single streamer that run AMS2 at v1.6 launch reverted heavily (almost exclusively I would say) to LMU, AMS2 seems to draw far more real players.
Also interestingly we can see that AMS2 more than doubled its daily users just by having a decent MP platform with a couple of focused services. This should answer the question as to how many simracers weigh MP as decisive reason for using a sim vs SP.
And I think with more bug squashing (rolling starts, live track consistency etc.) and additional MP features there is IMHO room to go quite further, maybe closer to 3k consistent daily usage.

 

AFAIK Part 4 is not part of the pass.

Well, seems perfectly logic to me that it is part of the SP, because the Racin' USA pack is part of the SP already, and Renato mentioned it a longer time ago as well that it would be part of the SP

 

I *dislike how people use the word "Free" when it should instead be "Included".
How is it "free" when you have to make a purchase in the first place ?

 

Well unless you think someone is being disingenuous using the word it just seems to depend on context.

e.g As someone who has already bought the base game, if Reiza add something extra to the base game - something that they've never suggested would be added and that could not have played any part in my purchasing decision then it seems perfectly reasonable to describe that new content as 'free' Especially to distinguish it from "paid" content that you have to make an additional purchase to get.

OTOH, if someone buys the game after this new content has been added then, sure, to them it's 'included'

I can't see any reason to get that emotional about it. Hate seems a very strong feeling to have over it.

 

I find the cockpit sound of the MC Laren 720GT3 Evo very quiet. Other GT3s like the Lambo or the BMW sound much louder.
Are there others who feel this way or is it just me?
