Sounds like a problem with the AI-controlled pit stops. If you have pit stops set to manual, you can drive into your spot just fine.

Edit: At least I don't remember any cases where my manual pit stop failed because my spot was occupied.

Could be, never happened before, never bothered to use manual pit stops also. Either way it looks like a bug. @CrimsonEminence?

That message is telling you your box is occupied by your team mate. If you wait for the next lap, presumably, the box will be empty.

If you have run fuel down right to the wire, and your team mate is in the box, you need to either yell at him or the team manager for not scheduling the stops properly ;)

If you choose not to wait for the next lap, you can wait in the pit lane for the other car to leave. This assumes you are controlling your own pit stops and not using AI control. I don't believe the AI control is programmed to wait in the pit lane if you make the mistake of ignoring the pit box occupied message.

You don't even have to wait. Just drive right into the sign. Whether there's another car there or not.

Wait, I have team mates?! I didnt realize this was a thing in AMS2 haha, I assume they are the other liveries for the same car? Living and learning, I'll just start doing manual pitstops I guess.

When using manual pitstops and you see that message you can still do your pitstop as usual, no need to wait at all, cars are ghosted in the pits, it is however more difficult to see where you need to stop, as the indicator isn't very visible when there is already a car there, but you can ignore that message and just make your pitstop.

    AC fanboy here...
    I bought into ams2 4 years ago.
drove AMS1 since gamestockcar, or what that was called....
    Loved it!
    ISIengine for the win.

than Kunos did what they did.... Loved it. street cars on the Nords.

AMS2 was a big let down on early access for me, bought and refunded instantly.
"Better than Pcars2....." oh my, how bad that might be.....

    then came 1.6...

No more rotation on a virtual center axis, no more excessive sliding.

I was hooked. And let me tell: AC, AMS1 and the others:
These are a generation away feelwise.
What ams2 does with ffb is miles ahead of those other sims.
FX:100 I must admit. thats the way in ams2. dampening to your liking.

this is the best driving experience I ever had, hand down.

AC Evo will have a strong contender.

    Cheers.

AMS2 is now so predictable. That is a realistic as we can hope for from a game aimed at mainstream and console markets. With 1.6, for the most part, you can find ways to eke out a few tenths here or there. You have to be more disciplined and give what the track gives you. While we awaited the update, I was way too busy to sim race. Getting back with 1.6, I'm now finding I have to hone my skills to keep up. Even holding the steering wheel properly lap after lap becomes important. With 1.6 you gotta do the little things that make you better than the next racer.

On top of all you said, Reiza gives you all this quality in a very easy to get going process. I never spend more than a few minutes getting the game settings I like and a setup that works for me. And it looks awesome!

Sorry to step in here, even as AMS2 is my mainly used sim and I really like it. It is not the easiest to setup nor has it the user friendliest menus. Most of the people don‘t want to mess with FFB settings, custom files, neither want to mention the poor menus for input settings or triple screens (4 monitors are still not usable in 2024).
So for me the problems from all these Youtubers are made from Reiza and how the game has to be setup in order to perform in a great manner.
I still don‘t understand, why there is no Simucube Paddock profile (Kunos does this for example) or FFB recommended base settings for the different wheelbases from the game developers as it would be so easy to share nowadays. Instead you still have the comments about the floaty feeling and that people should set their wheelbases to a neutral FFB setting (whatever that is). I tried a lot of different settings from standard to standard+ to custom files, but I still don‘t really know how the developers wanted the FFB to be felt on my SC2 Pro.

Unfortunately, this is not as easy as you imagine. The selection of different bases has now become very large and they all process and output the FFB differently. Not to mention the systems (Belt, Gear or dd) No simulation can define that for all systems. Or think of the new technology that is now coming with “Fullforce” at Fanatec with “Trueforce” at Logitech and there will be more consequences. I don't understand people who buy such expensive hardware but they don't care about it and have the ideas and demands that it has to work perfectly right away. If you work with it for a while and test it, you will have more fun and success with your hardware

Definitely, it would be ideal to include profiles for at least the most popular bases, or at the very least, improve the default setups for some cars, looking at you, GT3:). It would also be great if Reiza could incorporate technologies like Full Force or TrueForce.

Of course, FFB is subjective in nature, but the default FFB-presets provide excellent results in my experience (SC2 Pro). The FFB presets (per wheelbase) are of very limited use in any case (helpful for very basic setting such as wheel rotation).

My preferences in FFB are quite demanding and I struggle to find a better offering in FFB options from any other title. I suspect most issues with perceived "floatiness" may be related to improper Damping settings where the oversteer cues are lagging behind or with Head-Movement settings.

I have often read that 4 Monitor does not work!? Is this only if the 4th is connected with Hdmi? Because i´m using an USB 8´´ Monitor as 4th for Simhub and Tripple144Hz G-Sync Fullscreen in Nvidea Surround mode! Never had any problems...

I guess finding the proper ffb seems easy for me b/c it is the same way it was done in GTR2. Now there is much more info out there and the Internet is way faster. So, perspective, I guess. Relative to RF2 though, gotta admit, AMS2 is way more out-of-the-box friendly.

Yes I meant a proper screen connected to your GPU/iGPU it doesn‘t matter if it is connected via HDMI or display port. I had 5 monitors in total connected (have one on the desk as well) and for AMS2 only you had to disconnect 2 to have it working on triples. It is a bug or feature from the beginning and the only beside RRRE which really is a pain in this regard.

If this happened in June when the race is on, then sure. But there is a reason races all around the northern hemisphere are not scheduled in winter. People want to see racing, not a s*** show of cars on tires that barely work in wet let alone snow.

It'd be pretty fun to mess around with in AMS 2 that's for sure!
