Automobilista 2 March 2025 Development Update

To change the cores to 2 you have to go into your steam library, right click on Automobilista 2, select properties and enter the command line, like this:

 

In this update, I noticed a significant improvement in FFB, so is it related to this thread issue?

 

There were optimizations to the CPU threads, graphics shaders and FFB. Don't worry about which one is helping to what extent, just enjoy the better performance

 

Well, I normally don’t race a lot of F1 ultimate gen2 cars, and I had little time to practice since last update, but I can say the FFB on my old G25 has definitely improved and it’s much easier to be consistent when driving close to the limit with these cars. For me it’s a joy now and much more easy to control the car than previous builds. Also I got the impression that I can control tire temps easier than before. If I start asking too much of the tires I can feel them loosing the grip and adjust my driving accordingly to get them back on temp window. Really immersive and addictive. My plan was to go thru different cars last week but I was stuck with gen2 and had a great full race weekend with the great F1 2025 new liveries 0.9 by KRRT Dustin! Will try other cars next weekend, but for me FFB is really flawless now. I use default+ settings by the way.

I dont know if its placebo effect or I've learned to deal better with the AI, but I think it reached a great balance in this last update, having some great races against the AI. And I'll be dammed, I'm enjoying the GT3s as much as I enjoyed the GTEs, GT4s are a blast too.

 

With the swap to running 4 cores now standard, I just wondered if the game could be configured to use more cores if they were available ?

 

Would be nice to have, my Ryzen is hungry. But I think it's not that easy otherwise Reiza probably would have done that already much earlier.

 

You are wrong her.It runs on four threads not cores.

I asked this question before too. For those with intel gens 11-14 with multithread architecture I wonder if it could be possible to personally configure the number of threads for physics and perhaps also for graphics or other elements of the game like AI by using the same command lines just changing the number of threads used a bit like with proces lasso in GTR2 days.

 

Hello Reiza and guys. I was away for a while in the world of gran turismo. I tried every single SIM again each for couple of weeks. And to be honest I enjoyed to join again to Ams2 .
Huge thank you Reiza for their work, Ams2 was discovered again after dozen your updates in the best way. Amazing physics and tyre improvements, special thank for V8 SC . It feels solid now.

Also it's great we have lfm for clean perfect racing.
Keep development! anyway, amazing work. Love it.
One thing I was not very satisfied is rain physics. It feels more like floaty, that dynamic surface. Hope it will be improved as well to the level of gt7 for example

 

Cores, threads, I think we all know what we are talking about.

On the topic of performance, I noticed the performance still deteriorates after some time playing, I dont know if its related to restarting races, running more than one race after another, maybe its a memory leak or something. Optimization is great but kinda pointless if that happens.

 

How are your system temps?

 

Now thats a good question, I have to check, I've been lazing around on improving the airflow, but the CPU is water cooled.

 

I´m finding CPU temps lower since the update, maybe thanks in part to the thread optimisation and also cooler weather. Perhaps you could try restarting the PC when it seems to slow down as that would clear any software side issues and if it was a temp one it would continue. Also use monitoring software ingame on overlay for temps and processor/memory occupancy
