Duplicate gear ratios

    Hi folks,

    I've been messing with car set-ups and I noticed something with gear ratios that confused me and
    I'm hoping someone will explain it. (I've googled and searched the forums and didn't find anything).

    I was working on the LMP2 - Gen 2 Oreca 07 and there are 21 different gear ratios listed for 4th gear
    running from 2.692 to 1.053; however a few of the ratios are duplicated.

    Example:
    ...
    1.875
    1.824 <<-Duplicated
    1.824 <<-Duplicated
    1.632
    ...

    and

    ...
    1.200
    1.211 <<-Duplicated
    1.211 <<-Duplicated
    1.190
    ...

    It was bugging me because I would have really liked a ratio between 1.824 and 1.632 :)

    I checked a random GT3 car (don't recall which one - maybe Mac 720); it had fewer ratios, but no duplicates.
    I then checked an F-USA Gen 2 (Target Honda) and almost all the ratios for any give gear were duplicated.

    I didn't check with telemetry, but the driving experience in the Oreca 07 indicated that
    regardless of which 1.824 value I picked, I was getting the same ratio.

    Is there a specific reason duplicate ratios would be listed, or maybe just erroneous data, or maybe program bug?

    I'm on AMS2 V 1.6.3.6.2820AVX and running no mods (Windows 11 - H24 update).

    hey,
    it's not a "duplicate ratio" bug but a general problem with gear ratios. For example, some cars don't have any other values for final drive except the default one and it's not explained why. Also a lot cars have this ratio overlap - when you increase/decrease a ratio and it becomes equal to another gear.

    Also, the step between ratio values is so big that you cannot call it a "fine-tuning". Maybe devs will draw attention to it but I doubt...

    Thank you for posting your two first messages on the Reiza Studios Forum. I've read your post. If I recall this 'bug' is known and acknowledged by my colleague's. For better visibility can you report your findings in the Bug Reports - Automobilista 2 (Read the Opening Post) using the proper format. Thank you very much!

    Edit: Reset setup usually will clear the ratio's. At last whenever I experience this issue.

    Yeah some ratios still seemed bugged, where they are weird, the ratios look strange but you cant change them until you go run a lap or two then go back into the car setup menu and then the ratios are different and you can adjust them.
