Another one of my wishes that I dont hear much from in this forum is the Mazda Mx-5 Cup Car. That should be in AMS2.

It really just depends if AMS2 is going to focus on LMDhs. Because the LMHs are kind of a different beast and if they are simulated properly, they will need specific consideration in terms of consumption and balance.

AMS2 does not support the virtual energy ruleset that governs very different engines. Let's not forget the Valkyrie LMH is a non-hybrid hypercar after all.

I can see Acura being a more likely candidate because it's just another LMDh that AMS2 can implement quickly and it'd bring it's car line up closer in line with the IMSA series that it signed a partnership with. LMDhs are built to the same spec hybrid. They are very similar cars to each other where as LMHs are much more open.

I'd love to see virtual energy come to AMS2 eventually and bring it's simulation closer to LMU. In America and Asia, Acura is a much bigger deal than it is to other parts of the world. It wouldn't surprise me at all that it's the Acura NSX and LMDh that's coming in the next pack.

But I'd love to start seeing LMHs as well. And Ferrari is a gaping hole in AMS2's car list.

Who says that? Nothing suggests they can’t implement it

Reiza said after the 1.6 update that they will stay quiet and only post on the day of a game update release.

That's a bit of a simplifaction - please read the opening post of this thread for the detailed version of how things will continue, moving along after 1.6 :)

We also got tons of hints what's in the works atm (more maybe later than sooner)
    • More Endurance cars
    • US Stock Cars
    • Three historic Le Mans versions
    • Option to limit tires
    • AI strategy improvements
    • Multiplayer driver swaps
    • Career mode not in 2025, is more like the last addition to the game they will add

I wouldn't hold your breath on a multiplayer driver swap feature, Ren said the code team isn't that enthusiastic about it's implementation.

I wonder if that could be a work around to force AI to use different tire compounds during pitstop.

Did not imply that they can't implement it. Although the current hypercars are released under "LMDh" and not "HY". It could change, but given that IMSA is much more LMDh focused with only the Valkyrie running, it wouldn't surprise me if the spec hybrid motor in LMDhs is just easier for Reiza to manage. That's gonna be the case regardless of the dev.

I'd love for LMHs to come to AMS2, I just personally wouldn't bet on it but I'd love to be on the flip side of this. There's so many hypercars between IMSA and WEC now.

It's so painful to read that the career mode won't be released in 2025... The single-player experience in AMS2 is its biggest advantage, the best AI, dynamic weather and day-and-night cycle, an extensive list of represented classes, decent physics and excellent FFB. And of course VR... But, at the same time, it's just a sad fact, dead online, even on LFM, after a few months. Even if the online mode was popular, in the end we would get another full GT3 servers and empty other classes, and I can understand sim racers, I like GT3 myself, and other classes require additional study, training, so without artificial restrictions, nothing will change. I've been just driving with bots in championship mode for the second year now and simply ignore the existence of other content except for F1 2024, LMDH, Group C and GT1, which I like the most in this game, and I have absolutely no desire to set up championships for other classes and juggle them in 4 slots available for championships, sorry - this is sweaty painstaking work that would not be necessary if there was a career mode that would take me through all the classes with their nuances and rules in an entertaining way. But... the developers have other priorities, for them there are no players who come to AMS2 to spend exciting races in a single game to relax and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of motorsport, there are only sweaty, avid cyber athletes who really want the most intense fight online or crazy kleptomaniacs who do not care what they will do in the game, they care about getting new doses of content so that there is simply more and more. This is of course sarcasm, I'm dramatizing, but it's still annoying, the simulator that is the strongest in the single-player component is developing in any direction, but not in single-player mode.

I am glad that career is delayed because it has to until all the severe AI problems are fixed. I recommend you watch replays of incidents that happen with the AI because the list of problems is quite a big one, or check here for videos that show them. At the moment i find AI racing a waste of time especially because of the AI wiggle bug .

I totally get Reizas takes on this. Besides some AI problems - which I think are pretty minor since the AI is already one of the best in any racing game or sim to me - they have to be consitent for a real campaign. Right now I'm mostly driving GT3s and based on track I have to set the AI between 95 and 110, since their skill values aren't properly balanced. A campaign only makes sense if you don't have to readjust the AI difficulty for each race manually after qualify, but one setting that fits well for all tracks.

With the amount of tracks and cars we have, it's definitely not an easy tasks to get that right.

I understand the rationale but if you're going to be quiet about things don't then ALSO say 'new content nearly every month in 2025!!!!!' before you dip. Reiza have released one piece of content in 2025. It's now May, and to put it mildly that content was not popular.

I don’t think dropping regular dev updates was the best move. I totally understand the need to focus on development, that’s where the team shines, but even light, consistent communication is key to maintaining players trust and interest.

Most players aren’t asking for big promises or lengthy previews, just a bit of visibility, what’s in the works, what’s planned, and what we can reasonably expect. Even a short monthly post with a few clear points and some forward-looking info would go a long way. Even better, a flexible roadmap would help set expectations and keep the community calm, informed, and engaged.

Worst part is that it was because of the very few trolls, that they stopped doing the updates. 1.6 released and none of the trolls are still here..
