Another one of my wishes that I dont hear much from in this forum is the Mazda Mx-5 Cup Car. That should be in AMS2.

It really just depends if AMS2 is going to focus on LMDhs. Because the LMHs are kind of a different beast and if they are simulated properly, they will need specific consideration in terms of consumption and balance.

AMS2 does not support the virtual energy ruleset that governs very different engines. Let's not forget the Valkyrie LMH is a non-hybrid hypercar after all.

I can see Acura being a more likely candidate because it's just another LMDh that AMS2 can implement quickly and it'd bring it's car line up closer in line with the IMSA series that it signed a partnership with. LMDhs are built to the same spec hybrid. They are very similar cars to each other where as LMHs are much more open.

I'd love to see virtual energy come to AMS2 eventually and bring it's simulation closer to LMU. In America and Asia, Acura is a much bigger deal than it is to other parts of the world. It wouldn't surprise me at all that it's the Acura NSX and LMDh that's coming in the next pack.

But I'd love to start seeing LMHs as well. And Ferrari is a gaping hole in AMS2's car list.

Who says that? Nothing suggests they can’t implement it

Reiza said after the 1.6 update that they will stay quiet and only post on the day of a game update release.

That's a bit of a simplifaction - please read the opening post of this thread for the detailed version of how things will continue, moving along after 1.6 :)

We also got tons of hints what's in the works atm (more maybe later than sooner)
    • More Endurance cars
    • US Stock Cars
    • Three historic Le Mans versions
    • Option to limit tires
    • AI strategy improvements
    • Multiplayer driver swaps
    • Career mode not in 2025, is more like the last addition to the game they will add

I wouldn't hold your breath on a multiplayer driver swap feature, Ren said the code team isn't that enthusiastic about it's implementation.

I wonder if that could be a work around to force AI to use different tire compounds during pitstop.

Did not imply that they can't implement it. Although the current hypercars are released under "LMDh" and not "HY". It could change, but given that IMSA is much more LMDh focused with only the Valkyrie running, it wouldn't surprise me if the spec hybrid motor in LMDhs is just easier for Reiza to manage. That's gonna be the case regardless of the dev.

I'd love for LMHs to come to AMS2, I just personally wouldn't bet on it but I'd love to be on the flip side of this. There's so many hypercars between IMSA and WEC now.
