While both start with the letter P... "plan" and "promise" are two very different words. Plans can change based off of what may or may not be feasible in the game, not saying it won't be happening or that it can't happen just that it wasn't promised.

    That's right!
But nonetheless, his statement about this feature was sounding more like a promise than "just" like a plan.. We'll see..!

Look, I think you don't follow LU. I bought the game like AMS2. What MG is doing is updating the game every 3 months and a few days beforehand, they post what will come in the update, something simple and efficient.
Reiza could take this model and adapt it to the time needed to implement the update.
MG isn't fooling anyone. They just say what will come in their update. Reiza can do that easily too.
The problem that Reiza creates for themselves is that there is no standard for their updates, or at least transparency. They say that the next diary will be in 6 months, 8 months, 1 year, but what they can't do is simply go months without any information. Those who support the game are right to criticize. There are models that they can follow, that they can just adjust for themselves. It's not difficult to solve. It's just a matter of wanting to solve a silly problem, but it is a problem.

To add to this, it's not even missing estimated releases that irritates people so much. Most people are extremely patient and understanding with how difficult this sort of thing is. It's setting an expectation that nobody asked for, missing the initial timeframe, saying nothing for months, then setting another estimate, missing it again, then saying nothing about that. It's like if a friend invited you to dinner and just didn't show up without saying anything. Of course you'd be annoyed, you weren't the one who set the expectation, and they just ghosted you. To most people, this lack of punctuality is extremely off-putting.

For me the update is there when it arrives and till then I play and enjoy, I don' t need expectations or statements by Reiza or other game developers, I will see it when it' s ready.

For me it’s a bit the same, the sim is already very mature, and in current state I already enjoy it massively. It’s already hard for me to explore all the content already available. I also feel mods are coming in a greater pace than 1 year ago. There’s enough to fill my plate, and I already feel spoiled. My bottleneck is much more due to time constraints than content related. So I take as it is, and once new content arrives, it’s like a pleasant surprise. But I realize that’s because I’m probably old school.

After four years, I'm just really mastering the nuances of Velo Citta. I've had a love/hate relationship with the track since the beginning. Getting good at it means mastering its subtleties. This is not the type of simracing that garners major headlines. I got better at it by being bad for a while. My lines are safer, faster, more reliable now. But the erroneous lines I took still taught me so much. i suspect RL racing is similar. It's a great track for saving fuel and that can make a major difference in strategy.

My point is that racing this way is more for purists. It is the niche AMS2 fills. I know it will be updated at some point. There are areas, like anywhere in life, that would benefit from improvement, But I enjoy AMS2 in its current state b/c it makes me a better driver. It takes a while to understand the subtleties in AMS2 that help you improve, but they are there. I'm sure LMU is a great game, but it has different target and purpose. How old is AMS1? I'm sure i'll be smiling over AMS2 five years from now.

Maybe I am quite bold to write this here, but... does any of the stuff members or anyone with inside info know or is willing to share if and what could be the incomming VR updates for AMS2?

And what about fixing some (basic) things, still beeing odd, like 1.) no visible pitcrew on replays, 2.) no consistent damage preservation on replays (car magically turns visually "repaired" after some time, 3.) radio spotter still in basic state, no improvement at all 4.) AI cars with no attention at all to player (e.g. especially when pitting or leaving the pits) ecc. ecc. Ther's still a LOT to clean out, there, apart from expecting new content.

The subject appears to be going in circles, with opinions repeated back and forth. As it has drifted off-topic, I have decided to close this development blog. Thank you. Wishing you all a great weekend. Have a little patience and my colleagues will surprise you.
