Nop, will try again tonight with the default FFB (maybe my custom FFB amplifies the issue?). The LMP2 is still one of the best car of the game tho, super satisfying to drive.

 

Ok from my perspective I can't see any other issues regarding flickering etc. I'm using Nvidia 4070TI,
However I have noticed when I quit the game back to desktop it now appears out of three screens the middle and the right screen go blood red with the automobilista logo in the middle but the left screen remains black as it used to do ,a minor bug but clearly something else is at work in the background. The performance drop it instantly noticeable though, very jarring.

 

My AMS 2 installation size is indeed 120GB, but I'm almost certain I haven't had that much free space on my G: drive in ages and previous updates have never reported an "out of HD space" issue as far as I can remember.

 

Did a short testride in GT3s in my lunch break. Wow, Reiza nailed it big time with his! With each refinement after 1.6 it just gets so much closer to be perfect. If 1.6.4 was 99% there, this is like 99,9% where I want it to be.

Trying to describe what changed I would say the GT3s feel way more planted. Especially under trailbraking they are so much more stable, rear end can snap if you lift off brake too quickly though. It still allows a little bit of slip angle without spinning you out instantly, but the cars don't feel as loose under load in corners. Drove the M4 and Z06, M4 is really the stable beast it should be, it has tons of grip but you have to work to get it rotate enough. Meanwhile the Z06 is much more agile, had to adjust my ARB setup from 9:10 to 10:10 since corner entry oversteer is gone and my rear danced a bit much with my 1.6.4 setup.

It also seemed like you can drive a bit safer over bumps and dirt with one wheel, but have do race a lot more to be sure about that.

I really think AMS 1.6.5 and LMU Patch #5 really closed the gap to each other. Amazing work by Reiza

Also: Did the GT3 skins always were labeled as IMSA 2024?

@Djin I get what you mean, I think it actually feels amazing that on slow corner exits you can get a bit of spin if you accelerate hard (I drive with TCS = 4), but it feels so much more natural that it doesn't unbalance your car instantly, but how gently it's getting it's grip back and you just have to take care to stay in your line. I will have to test Monza T1 for this, it could be a bit snappy, looking forward to how that feels now

 

I liked the changes in the tires. When I drove a GT3 and a BMW Hybrid, I noticed that they were sliding very little and the car felt firmer in my hands.
However, this cost me a lot of FPS in a lobby. I usually simulate at 120FPS and I got 10FPS, which even made the other cars disappear.
I saw that other people reported problems with FPS drops. It might be important to check this out.

 

I also have to say that after updating to Spa, I'm experiencing significantly lower FPS. Any news about a known issue? What are you working on solving?Because that's a real shame, because now we're missing at least 30 FPS and that's really annoying.Otherwise, it's a great update, I really like it. I'm really looking forward to the DLC.

 

Yeah on top of the tree flickering I'm getting Spa is barely playable for me. Fps dropping all over the place. Same for Spielberg.

 

Must say i got good framerates here and no stutters whatsoever.
Playing on Manjaro Linux though and with all the latest updates to kernel, proton, gfx-drivers it runs really well on pretty high settings.

 

Since the update my centre and right side screens now have a red background on the loading screen (when you exit back to the menu) but my left side screen is still black. Not sure if the change to red was intentional or not but whichever the case the three screens now have mismatched background colours on the loading screen.

what card do you have? Also are you on proton 9 or 10? I hadn’t noticed anything significant fps wise until I tried running at Le Mans - that track is a slide show when every other track seems to be running smoothly (though I am running a VRR so I may not notice if there has been a 5-10% drop in fps on other tracks)

 

After the latest update BMW M4 GT3 feels in my hands exactly as the M4 LMGT3 in LMU. I have never driven real GT3 car, so I do not know how it should feel, but it clearly represents how both simulators developers are heading the same way. I am amazed, to be honest, how enjoyable GT3 cars are to drive now in AMS 2. Thank you very much for your hard work.

Game gives an error message that Steam is unavailable and the game now shuts down when you try to start the game from Taskbar or through other tools like FanaLab. You can only run the game when starting it through Steam directly since the new game update.

 

I noticed the LEDs for A LOT of cars were changed without being mentioned in the changelog.

Can you please provide a list of cars which got LED updates of any kind in the new update and also provide a list with the exact RPM LED values since the last update where the RPM values changed now? Because it is literally impossible to test all the cars and adjust the RPM LED values accordingly for my FanaLab profiles.

 

I have a Radeon 6800 16GB and Proton version is 9.0-4. Havn't tried Le Mans yet but will do tomorrow and report my results.

 

The game does not update or start on Steam, it is absurd to need to have 120GB free for routine updates if this is the problem. I intended to buy some DLCs but with this bug and news of FPS drops I prefer to wait, the game is unusable for now.

 

That's not so much an AMS2 issue, but the way Steam handles updates, if you dont have a lot of free space, it will delete more files which means a bigger download size, thus it takes longer to update.

Have you tried clearing steam's download cache, or possibly selecting a different download server?

Also, in VR i haven't had any FPS drops, in fact it seems to have a bit better performance since the update.
