That's fair. I am looking forward to driving the Valkyrie at the IMSA tracks. Been driving it in a certain other sim and she is one sassy girl and awesome to drive. Can't wait to cut her loose on all the IMSA tracks!

the only way the AI will cheat on you is by going slightly faster through Eau Rouge (and perhaps a couple of corners at Termas de Rio Hondo)

With regards to the mixed feelings expressed around the Nurburgring 2025 being a new DLC, while I understand that especially in light of our usual approach to these things I´d invite those of you feeling that way to consider this for added perspective:

The original AMS2 Nurburgring DLC has sold since release for $9.99; it originally included the modern layouts which then were expanded with the historical 1971 version, complete with the Sudschleife - massive projects in their own right - free of any additional charge. That same DLC is now receiving yet another free upgrade as the original mesh is being updated to share the same base that is going to be used by the 2025 version, which in turn is going to cost "only" $7.99 at release price including only the modern layouts.

Compare that to say iRacing where the Nurburgring sells for $14.95; ACC´s Nurburgring DLC sells for $12.99 at full price, which is similar pricing to what rFactor2 had for the longest time - all these included only the modern versions of the track; I say this not in any sort of criticism of those games or their developers, they each have their own realities much like we have ours and each individual has theirs to decide what is worth their money and isn´t; at the end of the day we also have to operate within reality and unfortunately delivering a fully updated track five years after the original DLC free of extra charge just isn´t viable for us as it wouldn´t be for anyone else.

We have actually gone out of our way to update the original track along with creating the 2025 model as we had already openly suggested that was the plan and I wasn´t going to walk back on it; but we can´t just offer brand new things for free folks, especially not at this size and level of quality; I´d honestly hope that past perhaps some initial disappoinment most of our users will have the maturity to understand this.

With this clarified and with the clear understanding it is a free market for everyone to make their own spending choices if, when and how they see fit, let´s keep the thread moving forward :)

Could you clarify if the endurance part 3 will discount if we buy the imsa bundle ?

I already own all the contents of the racin USA bundle, but I purchased them individually. So it gets included in the IMSA pack which comes out to $14

The endurance packs have been $10 each, so buying it at full price would presumedly be cheaper than the IMSA pack

I don't wanna take up more space on this topic, and it's a small amount anyways, just pointing out a quirk with the steam store

I have no issues with paying for the update to the Nordschleife, but I won't be doing so until we can skip the outlap with the GP shortcut, as that stops me from using it much at the moment.

Adding the nice extra depth to FTP, GTE, GT3 and GT4 is cool though. At this point I am here for the depth in the classes more than new ones so this is great. Great to see the Astons appear, fingers crossed there's one more when the '88 Le Mans comes around.

I'm a bit disappointed at no sign of a Ford (GTE, GT3, GT4) but hopefully that's one for later on. The IMSA bundle being released now though, are you able to confirm if that marks a stop/pause on new content in this area?

Looking forward to the patch notes and any AI improvements to stop them banding together.

Appreciate this clarification, thanks. Personally I preferred when all the liveries were 'REIZA GTP' for consistency but if you're going for the real ones then respect.

LMU users would happily pay €20 for Nords I guess :)

You're actually wrong here. In iRacing you have to buy BOTH the Nurburgring GP AND Nords, as separate $15 tracks to get the full combined layout. So $30 to run the combined layout. And their version of both tracks is ANCIENT.

And you mostly will need to pay for the newest revision of the track in iracing each 2-3 year like they usually do.

I stand corrected, and rest my case ;)

No meaning to launch a bashing fest here tho to be clear gents, as I said these are different products - service in the case of iRacing - and subject to different licensing arrangements; we don´t pretend to know what reality they operate under but we do know ours and what we can and can´t do, and this was the way we worked out to get both the old model updated as well as a fresh new version of the track out.

Been a while since I logged in here. I was part of the IndieGoGo all that time ago, but got pretty disenchanted with AMS2 fairly early on in development and forfeited the game + lifetime of DLC out of principle (I was quite frustrated with sim racing overall, and it was something of a last-straw scenario.)

I'm now eating my words, in a three-course meal with all the trimmings (and happily paying full price for DLC.) You guys have done an awesome job, and clearly continue to do so. Looking forward to playing the new update, all the best!

It’s never been entirely clear to me, are all the modern tracks in AMS2 laser scanned ? Do you purchase the data/meshes from a provider, or do you actually go on-site to scan the tracks yourselves? Which technique has been used (mobile mapping, terrestrial scanning, drones, etc.)?

From MY perspective you owe no one an explanation or apology., Your prices are always VERY fair and I would hope that people who want to see AMS2 have a long healthy life and get many new updates understand it costs money to do what you do to update these tracks. You have my support, sir.

I surely don´t as I own the track in all the sims I mentioned above; I also buy 6 packs regularly. Some are better value for the buck than others but the 6 packs and the DLCs are all generally cheap enough not to warrant losing sleep over ;)

No strict single methodology; some tracks we got high res scans ourselves; some we bought / licensed them from 3rd parties; some are LIDAR based and some (mainly the older productions, the South Ameircan tracks and obviously the historical versions) aren´t laser scanned at all,

The old Nurburgring was based on a lower res LIDAR scan; the new one is a higher res scan.
