Just had chance to check out the new update and dlc.
First Impressions are the Valkyrie is not for me , I dont like the sound and prefer lmu's version if I'm honest.
2025 Nordschleife is brilliant and well worth the money so much more going on around the track and the surprise for me is the Alpine gt4 around it.
That car is possibly my new favourite in sim racing to drive especially around the new version of the ring. Absolutely amazing.
Just need some real liveries for the new cars.
Very happy with money well spent.

V1.6.6.3 is now live - One more complementary update to the latest release primarily to hotfix bug spotted on a new LiveTrack function which could cause tires to overheat and lose grip in certain circumstances - save for any new issue it should wrap the cycle.

    V1.6.6.3 CHANGELOG

    GENERAL
    • Fixed issue which could lead to excessive heat-related grip loss

    PHYSICS
    • AMR Vantage GT3 Evo (both variants): Minor default setup adjustments (setup reset recommended)
    • AMR Valkyrie Hypercar: Adjusted gear ratios for low downforce variant
    • Slightly increased default wing settings all around for F-Classics & F-Hitech Gen1 to further mitigate some persisting AI instability issues

    AI
    • Further F-Classic / F-Hitech AI stability adjustments
    • Adjusted AI speed around the Karussel in Nurburgring layouts featuring the corner

    AUDIO
    • AMR Vantage GT3 Evo: Corrected transmission whine pitch

Appreciated explanation, i care and support AMS2 for years now, so my point was that those two v10 engines that are very simillar sound completely different. I already reported some other things related to F1 cars at forum for that (bugs etc). Just want the best out of the game and hope for some stuff to get fixed patience will pays off. Sorry if i sound rude, wish you all the best

Not taken as rude. Your observation may be 100% spot-on. If you believe it to be so, post it in a bug report thread. (It is not related to this topic.)

Is there a plan to re-add Car Reset as an On/Off toggle for online ? The league i race in sometimes people end upside down and it is unfortunate when people have no other choice but retire when we are just trying all to have a fun event.

    @TomLehockySVK

"With this update we have temporarily disabled the reset button in MP sessions at least for the time being as it was a source of problems in a MP environment - longer term the goal is to both improve the functionality so reset cannot be abused or cause problems with cars spawning on the way of incoming traffic, and make it optional for hosts to disable it altogether if that´s how they prefer to run their session"

    Hello @Marius H ,
The decision to disable the reset button in MP sessions means that during our kart events, once we end up in the gravel, there is often no way to continue. Previously, a reset could help us get back into the race. Without this function, the race is simply over in these situations – which has a very negative impact on the flow and enjoyment of our kart events.
You should already considder the option to turn this on or off in the server settings - not just plain remove it and thats it.

I'm just the forum moderator quoting a post from Renato earlier in this topic. The feature was removed because it negatively impacted the multiplayer aspect of the game. Some players began exploiting it to ram cars off the track, among other issues. This is a temporary solution, so please be patient.

If I'm correct, your community can roll back to the previous version, which still includes the option to reset and join the P2P server you've created for the kart event. To do this, go to Automobilista 2, right-click, select Properties, then Betas, and choose 'previousbuild'.

I very much enjoy the Valkyrie in AMS2. But I do think the sounds are underwhelming/disappointing, having actually heard her sing in real life at Sebring this year. It feels like there is a "SHHHHHHH" white noise added to it..maybe they are thinking wind? I don't know. But LMU is dead on from outside. AMS2 needs help there. Inside it's a lot closer to the TV onboards which Reiza says they hate...but nonetheless, the 'buzziness' of the engine is there. It's not as 'exciting' as LMU's inside for sure but only the real driver could tell us at the end of the day.

I think some of the problem is answering the question: What do you expect to hear in the car? A real driver is wearing a helmet and this is going to muffle and change the sound characteristics for them. An onboard mic is going to hear something different.

Hate to be greedy but are things like session save and multiplayer live driver swap anywhere on the road map? It's great to have all this endurance content, but it's a little deflating that the game itself seems to be designed to not facilitate multi-hour, multi-driver endurance racing.

Had the chance to play 1.6.6 plus the new dlc now. Some quick impressions:
    • AM GT3 is really fun to drive, it has really good grip on corner entry so you don't get any trust issues on trailbraking into corners meanwhile on corner exit it has the perfect amount of slip you don't understeer but let the car take all the width of the track. I don't feel any sliding or unrealsitic Throttle rotation, it feels very planted, a bit like an more aggressive version of the M4 GT3. And the sound is maybe the best of the GT3 yet, especially how much variety it has under different load. Also like the new suspension sounds you can hear.
    • Alpine GT4 is not really how I like my cars to handle. It can easily kill you if you get slighly too fast into a corner and I couldn't really trust the car to be stable under braking. I got some flow with it after a while, it definitely has it's own charm.
    • Nordschleife 2025, yeah I'm not a big Nordschleife driver. I can definitely see the improved visuals and how some corners and curbs changed, but these are such small details that - for me at least - it won't make me drive Nordschleife more than I did before with the 2020 version.
    • Don't know what exactly change but it seems like most road surface ffb is gone now. Most notably on Sebring, where you usally felt every single bump on this really messy track surface, now it feels like maybe 1/4 of the ffb I had before on that is there. Haven't change any settings since 1.6.5.2
    • It seems like the patch had a hit on my framerate. The game dropped noticable way below 60fps on newer tracks like Sebring or Road Atlanta in a 32 car multiclass race on my 4090 in 7680x1440 (triple screens). Will have to further tests to nail down what's te issue

That doesn't tell whether there is a drop in performance. You actual FPS could have gone from 250 to 121 and you wouldn't notice.

I may have a noticeable drop in performance, too, but confounded things by updating my graphics driver for the first time in quite a while  Let's hear from others who can see their actual FPS if there is a common issue.

I have the same impression after V1.6.6.3, the FFB feels way less detailed than before, at least when it comes to road surface and tires scrub feedback.

No performance drop because the load of GPU is always 85/90% as before

Really loving the GT4 cars, the Alpine is great fun and the Aston Martin sounds great but the final two gears a bit "off". Presuming they are correct as checking the setup the final drive train doesn't change, 5th & 6th especially bog the car down with too low revs so the AI pull away on the straights. I tried lowering them but they match with the previous gear, so yeah guess that's right

I have a drop since 1.6.6, from 80-85 to 65-70, so I can't use my monitors on 75 Hz, only 60 Hz (I can't sync my old freesync triples with my newer nvidia card.)

Adding an option for hosts to enable/disable this feature would be amazing! Has there been any discussion about offering a "tow to pit" option during a race if a car gets disabled on track? So that way a damaged car isn't a hazard on track, as they try to make it back to the pits to get repaired and they can continue the race after the car gets repaired.

@DaWorstPlaya There’s been some internal discussion on how to approach the reset to track. Personally, I’m a strong supporter of towing, just like we had in AMS1. It was so immersive too.

@Balazs Magyar If you’re having performance issues, check if the new LOD feature in "performance/graphics" is turned on or off. Off means it works like before, on means the new version is active.

I found upping my gain a couple of notches helps bring some of the feeling back.
