I personally believe the Steam Bundle system works much better than "pack" DLCs.
This is not your fault, but merely a limitation of the steam back end.

But steam will always add their mark up for additional DLCs in packs, even when nothing is being bought. for example.
The screenshot below shows that I can still buy the "premium track pack" for £16.99, even though steam already tells me that I already own every track included in that pack. this may confuse people or cause them to pay unnecessarily.

This issue does not arise with Steam made bundles, which is what I use to purchase further content.

If I want the complete GTE class, I have to buy the “Racing USA pack ” but that GTE class doesn't include the new Aston Martin GTE, so I have to buy the “Endurance pack 3” which is a bit strange In my opinion, the Aston Martin GTE should be added to the “USA pack.” Now I have to purchase two expansion packs to get the complete GTE field.

Being able to buy each car individually would be nice, but I think the main core of users of AMS2 buy all the main DLC's so unlikely this option would ever happen.

Would rather have purchased individual items, bundles might have only 1 x track or car that I would want, won't be purchasing even bigger bundles now, guess that's what other sims are for, to play content you don't own in AMS2

While it would be nice - and we do try to compartmentalize several cars of a given class into the same DLCs when possible - these two DLCs came out in 2021 and 2025 respectively; we couldn´t feature Aston Martin back in 2021 because that license only materialized in 2025 , and we couldn´t just add a car to a four year old pack when that license hadn´t been priced into the original DLC.

Again folks please take into account the goal for the thread as outlined in post 2, which is for users to enquire about or give suggestions they might have about the ongoing DLC restructuring given existing technical and commercial constraints - you may not know what these constraints are exactly but some things aren´t tricky to figure out isn´t going to be viable with some consideration for who is in the other side of the deal. It´s all well and good to have ideas and condoct all the diferent ways you would prefer to have AMS2 DLCs itemized or bundled together according to each one´s very specific preferences, but even the ideas that are technically and commercially viable if we were starting fresh would require us starting fresh to execute, it can´t be done for AMS2 so it´s not what this thread is about.

That's the right decision, and I'm glad you've decided to make it.
I've been buying every AMS2 DLC on day one since before the 1.0 release. Everything feels very natural to me since I've been watching this game slowly develop throughout the years.
But for someone new to the game, the DLCs were a nightmare. I bought a copy for a friend and he asked me which DLCs he should buy. After a long explanation he said, "Wow, this is a mess". Hell, even overtake.gg had to create a guide just to explain the DLCs.

    So yeah, smart decision.

Currently I'm am trying to buy all missing DLC content, but it seems impossible without paying double for DLC that I already own.
There are errors in the Steam cart price calculation, for instance in the screenshot below I would have to pay 89.99€ for items that are only 46.96€ in total:

I think you have to buy the missing dlcs standalone and not the season pass. The season pass is a discounted bundle of 89,99€ so I think it can't give you extra discounts for parts you already own.

What does it say when you try to buy the all inclusive bundle? I believe that should give you the correct discount:

With the All Inclusive Bundle I have to pay double for Racin' USA Pack 1,2,3 & Brazilian Racing Legends Pack (part of Premium Expansion Packs):

Maybe that's a steam localization issue, as it's showing for me just fine.

Presumably he meant the prototype, which is a late addition to the Endurance pack pt3 but missing even from your lovely picture.

Maybe they should avoid putting bundles inside a bundle, only put the contents of bundles inside a bundle to avoid paying double for content inside a bundled bundle.

I agree. It's a bummer when new DLC comes along with a tease that those who bought into the game's ecosystem previously could get a minor discount but then the reality is that the discount only exists if you re-buy everything all over again. I didn't mind paying full price for the latest Enduro DLC as I love the game, but it def feels like those who bought everything at release get the short end of the stick.

I have to say, I am a massive fan of the game and must have bought it 15 times now for various friends but the DLC is a confusing mess. Whereas in most cases, previous purchases are deducted, the various ways of completing leave very misleading options.

I bought base game, then Silverstone, then Premium Track Pack (no deduction for owning Silverstone at the time), then Premium Track Pack upgrade or whatever it was called. Now these are the options on the store:
All inclusive pass for SP owners.
All inclusive pass for SP owners..jpg

    All inclusive pass.
    All inclusive pass..jpg

    IMSA Bundle.
    IMSA.jpg

I get that the structure changing so many times has caused problems and appreciate that you guys are making the best you can out of that situation given constraints but the first bundle shouldn't even be shown to people like myself, the fact that, if I were a fool, I could complete that purchase is... Well, problematic in my opinion.

I struggle at this point to understand what changes are being made, whether they have already been applied or if what I am posting about is redundant, but that is a sign of just how murky this has become for some of us. You guys are probably aware of this but just in case, I figured it was worth posting, if not, sorry for taking up so much room here.

Edit: I guess the removal of the SP will remove the first option. Fingers crossed it will all be better after the changes.

Yes I can understand the policy but for those that the rearranging force them to rebuying dlc you must give them o bonus , exp a code to use via mail a future dlc in better price or a bonus track or car …don’t you thing that this will be more justified? Do understand correctly I have pay for DLC’s only 169,86€ in total plus the game because I buy some things in different periods stand-alone etc etc and I must if I want some extra goods to re buy them ?!?!?!? @Renato Simioni

@Renato Simioni and to make my point more specific, for experimental purpose I select to buy the IMSA pack which cost 24 some € in steam but I have prior that some other dlcs …so when selected the pack the steam inform me that I will not re buying those items that I already own BUT THE PRICE AS YOU CAN SEE REMAIN THE SAME ….is that fair to you ?!?!?

And by rearranging the dlcs we will come to bunches of such issues , except if the purpose of that is not to help clients to make more specific buying but to collect funds. And this is not false to make is the way to work companies they don’t work for my mother”s soul, but communicate correct to the people .
