As I now understand it... if you are set to Authentic then you only use the 1-10 settings. In the Assists settings menu, Off is the correct choice...
If you have mods or added anything outside the normal steam install it will leave those behind. Always have to check to be sure the game folder...

When I used R3E, ReShade was a must to bring life to it. Haven't used it since they updated the shaders so can't comment on current appearance.
