This may help - VR Performance uplift - Game Changer!
For anyone having VR performance issues, particularly with Day/Night/headlights or weather, I’ve finally made a step change. Admittedly I’ve a...
@Chip - think we might have a winner! Just downloaded Process Lasso and set the AMS2AVX.exe CPU priority to High and it's a game change! So much...
Interesting (and incredible frustrating!) - I’ve had a hunch around CPU stuff too. Any ideas on how to further explore the theory? Or even...
Bah - just booted up again for a blast and it’s back to fluctuating frame rates…. No idea what’s going on!
Ok, perhaps a breakthrough! Seems like low-latency to ultra and vsync on in NVP have unlocked more GPU capacity. This nails it to a locked 45fps...
I’ve tried it and agree with you. I’d rather run 70% SS than upscale from 70-100% with this due to noticeable degradation of image quality.
Yes you can switch ASW off. For oculus devices I think it’s in the debug tool and for WMR you can do it in SteamVR settings.
@Chip - I did some more experimentation last night as I was getting some old problems..... framerate dropping below 45 fps in certain areas,...
Exactly this! I’ve got my VR gfx settings dialled in now bit headlights are a killer when in a pack. Would be amazing if they can improve this.
I use the SteamVR video->per app settings to set To forced-on. It used to be better to open the SteamWMR settings (from within VR) and set to...
Chip, my 2 cents on gfx settings (in VR with G2) also had plenty of experimentation, but a lot of this will be personal preference I'm sure......
Thanks Steve - appreciated.... VERY large beer waiting if it all works!
That sir is truly remarkable (if not unbelievable :) ) So basically you've maxed out settings and getting 90fps by rending at an equivalent of...
Thanks Mike, this has transformed the game for me - couldn’t bottom all all the stutters, especially in rain and night…. This has truly done...
Also I discovered turning HAGS off (control panel->graphics settings) made a big improvement in the variability of FPS in VR across the same...
I discovered that night that turning HAGS off really helps VR performance. That, and changing SteamVR to the beta channel.
If it helps G2/WMR users, I got about 20% improvement last night moving to latest SteamVR / Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR betas.
I can't say whether it's worse since update or not, but there's a huge delta in performance in VR/G2 for dry vs. fog/rain/night... I recall having...
