Default setups is usually an effort to make the race a *driving* contest.

The default setup on the Caterham seems a little understeery to me (only car I spent more than a minute in), but its behavior seems "believable"...
For me it helps make out stuff in the distance. AMS2 is much better than PC2 was "out of the box" in this regard. But not quite as good as PC2...
I think this can be subjective in that our brains filter this out IRL most of the time.
