That sounds odd - the FOV can usually be changed for all cameras in the settings page, or you can use the [ ] keys to do it live while you are in...

The Steam Deck is a PC, just with a Linux based OS. It will be interesting to play AMS2 in a console-like environment though.
I guess that's so they can sell it at 85% off in the sale and you feel like you're getting a bargain
