AMS 2 needs a banning system

I agree totally.

It would be nice to have a ban feature (I have a list of names that I know only cause issues in community racing) but I get this may not be possible or immediately fixable.

Even if we could get a command in chat (like /kick VGG for example) so you can kick throughout a session, this would be a major help.

Maybe we could go as far as having an option to ghost a player for the rest of the session so they can't get their kicks too ( something like /ghost VGG for example).

It would be a bonus to stop rejoins (though this doesn't matter in race) and to permanently ban people but those would be nice to haves, a kick feature is necessary.

To counter the argument that some will have of "use a password", what about communities looking to grow and have new people join? Those that enjoy open lobby racing and (perhaps most importantly from a PR/Reiza standpoint) what about those streaming open lobbies or producing content.

It only benefits everyone if a host can kick.

 

For me, when livestreaming/promoting Reiza/AMS2 (with the amazing community we have built) there is nothing worse than viewers seeing wreckers and drivers suffering idiots - it literally puts new and existing users from joining races.
PLEASE as an absolute minimum fix the "Kick" feature AND add a "1 week/1 Month/Permanent BAN" option WITHIN the lobby/game-play. If it's available from the "Dedicated Server" why is it not available from the in-game "Public Server/Lobbies".

Also, other commenters that are prevelidged with the ability to setup/utilise "Dedicated Servers" stop ONLY suggesting "Dedicated Servers", not everyone has either the spare hardware and/or the technical knowledge to set it up. And, if it is CLEARLY in the game then make it work (again) it used too.

PMR got into MASSIVE problems by ONLY listening to those that went along with the 'flow', the community are asking (politely demanding) something to be done at the game level.

 

Add a setting that can Enable/Disable a setting "Lap cars become ghosted to the lead lap cars".

 

I use an add-on that requires:

4 clean laps, either in practice or qualifying, to get SR.

1 clean lap in qualifying to qualify and be able to participate in the race.

This is configurable.

It's incredible that every day, out of 26 players, half are kicked out for not qualifying.

One clean lap is all that's required.
A clean lap is considered to be one where you don't exceed the limits and don't collide with anything. A simple collision with a cone marks it as dirty. At the end of qualifying, they are automatically kicked out.

You'd also have to pay/have the ability to host a server, I presume, which is NOT inclusive to the community - a simple kick feature (and ban) includes all who own the game already.

It really shouldn't require extra hoops, or a dedicated server.

It's just a few files that you add to the Lua folder.
It's true that you can put it on a paid dedicated server.
What I don't understand is why REIZA doesn't do it from within the game itself.

I don't see it as that difficult. I've seen that many things can be done. The only problem is wanting to do it. It won't be perfect, but it can come very close. But yes, it's simpler not to play. Especially not to buy something before it's finished.

You host a server and play on the same PC?
Equally it is simply needed in game, anyway, as you point out.

 

This ghost car feature could also be used for online licenses. Beginner ranks would need to complete enough races in this ghost car mode to even be allowed to drive with collisions. As licenses increase, there would be more and more players per server. This might help resolve the issues on its own. Currently, anyone can start a war immediately after clicking the buy button.

In conjunction with the upcoming campaign, this unlock system could even be a good selling point.

But there's no problem using the same one; I've done it many times.

But that's not the point... I think it's the only game that still doesn't have admin commands via chat.

I think having ghost cars enforced would result in worse driving standards because people would get used to driving the same lines instead of learning how to drive side by side.

 

So, that would be "paying" for a dedicated server, wouldn't it. Its a bought advantage over the average user - in which everyone can't achieve.

As I said, it HAS to be in the game natively.

 

You (nearly) ALL seem to be missing the point - "KICK" IS IN the game already, but it's broken - it just needs fixing!!!

 

The fix - let the admin insta-kick without needing votes.
