OK thanks mates, no language issue, it is the same as with my old MB190E :)
And yes, this was quite cool and should be implemented into AMS :D Just to divide the more experienced from greenhorns ;)

I once saw a Nicki Thiim Stream, where he was pumping the brake pedal in the simulator, while driving on the straights. I don't know, if he was trying to trigger chat, or if it was out of habit, but interesting to see. :D

He is a clown, i bet it was to trigger chat. Possible automation though also, the sim was immersive enough it had him believing he was in the real car.

I believe tipping the brake is an old habit that was done by many drivers in pretty much all racing classes. Not sure if they still do it today but it was done, as example, in the 1990's in the DTM. They tipped the brake pedal twice before hitting the brake full to make sure brake pressure was there.

Scroll up/back a bit, you see it in the V8 Supercar vid :D
Brake pad knockback is still a problem until today.

Welcome back @Micropitt, it is a long time ago you posted here!
I was afraid that something happened to you but I hope you are well.
But Nicki Thiim isn't an old style driver, he started karting in 2000.
I did my experience with my MB190E (model 1988), after long time without braking, there was always a lack of pressure. So before hard braking you had to pump, or pump during braking to get higher brake pressure. With my newer BMW (model 2013) the brake pressure is enough so it is not neccessary to pump. But I could imagine, that on high level motor racing there is a significant difference if brake pads lying at the disc or not. Or, another thing, he tips the brake to avoid a too much cooldown?

This may be a habit of older drivers, as older cars had this feature (as reported by @2ndLastJedi). In real life, for example, this method is necessary in the Old Stock Race category (current), but not because of the driver's habit (usually older), but because of the characteristics of the car.
Rubens highlights this in the video (enable subtitles).
In the simulator if used, it is in fact related to the pilot's habit.

Not just habit, it highly depends on the car. Old stock as mentioned above, when running at straights, the pads move away from the brake rotor due vibration and stuff, so, when you lightly press the brakes, the pads are closer to the brake rotor, and when you actualy need the brake in one corner, the pressure will be there without the need to press the pedal too much, like pressing the floor of the car. It help with time response of the brake.

Old cars with old technology has this kind of behavior.

Any car with an old pad (several miles of use) will have this behavior.
Im quite sure that this kind of behave doenst exist in any simulator. I had tried to do this in AMS1/2 Iracing ACC and others, neither of them had improve the brake, quite the oposite, it overheat the brake.

Also i always do this in Track Days, as i own one Opala in real life. It actually helps.

What Rubens does is not only tipping, he is really pumping.
And of course, this helps and not only with a race cars...

I'm well, good Sir. Thank you for the concerns. Just took a break from things, it was needed.
I have seen the brake tipping a lot with Rally car drivers and I think Ayrton Senna did it too. But then again, Senna did a lot of things different than anybody else ;-)
