Are you sure all ports are forwarded correctly, anf opened in any used firewall, wether its the windows firewall or a different one?

Also since its not visible kind of points me to a port issue

Everything is fine now. Both the Reiza and Emperor interfaces are working. Not sure what happened, because I haven't changed anything. However, my league is putting AMS2 on hold for a while. The MP issues (and not just netcode) just make it too difficult to run a series properly. Waiting on an update that directly addresses all of that. Thank you for your attention and help, Roy, it is MUCH appreciated!

you are welcome, i am currently helping the people over at emperor with some issues with the results file for a league, together with someone else i set up a ams2 league, did 2 races now, both without issues from the ams2 side of things, first race i had the emperor manager set to auto start the next events practice session, which is whats being looked at them now with some files i send them.

yesterday we had 12 people in the race, no issues, we are using the sportsplay protocol though

So are you guys running the emperor server manager separate from their hosting services? I see you can purchase the manager. I was thinking of this as well.
For now at SRO we use emperor services and have had nothing but good results with them, no results issues & solid MP and, we can all find the servers in the list :)although sometimes I need to double start the server to get it to show but I haven't had to do that for the last few events.
We also use their servers for ACC & PC2. Nice that you're in contact & helping them with AMS2 Roy! they seem like a good group & always are helpful if I need anything.

It's true the game is lacking a few things regarding League racing but we have worked out a system for MP that gets everyone on the same page. We just need some admin commands as does PC2 . You can only do so much with the API so we don't even use it .. We simply make sure the host is first to join and because we can't advance the sessions, we start the events at a set time so the P & Q sessions get us to the set start times.

I must say we did the 74' Porsches at Kyalami last Tuesday and it was some epic racing! We only had 11 so no real stress on the server so it ran perfectly.
We have had over 20 before and also had no major issues other than user errors.
So, for us, using emperor and their hosting has been a good experience!:)

    Hi,

Im using their manager on my own server, runs well, to make the server visible for everyone i am using the sportsplay functionality, with which people can join through a shortcut, and the server shows on top of the list.

I am using betorobsons webfiles which is slightly edited, which provides easy access to an next session button, during races this button restarts the race.

Yeah the people from emperor are very helpful, which is great, and i find it only normal to assist them in any way possible, wether its a test event, or just providing files for them to analyze, in the end it benefits all people running an ams2 server/league

Oh ! Im very interested in this webfile you speak of:) we don’t normally need to restart races but advancing the session would help us immensely !! ;) Is this something emperors could apply to the rented server? Or would i need full control just using the server manager?
    Thx!

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck live broadcasting? Not just streaming from there perspective but broadcasting with leaderboards & all the cam views! I would like to start broadcasting our events but i read the director & broadcaster elements that are in the menu from PC2 are disabled in AMS2 ?? Is this true? Is ther a way to do live broadcasts with the overlays?
    Thx!:)

Well, you dont actually need the webfiles though,i dont know if emperor could allow uploading them, but if u open up the http api of your server, which you can setup in the emperor menu, and click on: status (old) you find the advance session button there as well. The webfiles only puts this on the normal status page.

Has anyone had a problem with a dedi server showing one track in the browser but then a different one when having joined the server?

I have a practice server set up with Laguna Seca set with it's track_id in the config file but when you join, it's set to Cleveland!?

It's easy enough for the first person who joins the server to change it manually.. but well.. it might just be an easy bug to squish!

On the subject of allowing refuelling...

God what a headscratching pain this bug is.. but I THINK I know what's happening and how to get around it.

It works a bit like a virus.. When you boot up a dedi server it will be enabled BUT.. If the first person to join has refuelling disallowed in their own server config (Multiplayer -> Create New ->Race Parameters) It will switch the dedi's 'refuelling allowed' to OFF.

If someone then joins the server, their own 'Create new' server config, will also then flag to OFF.. and so if they then join another server and are the first to do so, it will do the same to that server... and so on..

The solution I've found to usually work, is to first go into the multiplayer server browser, Create New, and change pit stop refuelling allowed back to yes and then join the server (You have to be first). I'm not entirely sure if the server needs to be rebooted first, or if just needs everyone to leave it.

Anyway, if anyone else encounters this, try this method and report back if it works for you!

A bit late to the party with this one.. But I've had the issue with people not being able to see the server myself.

WITHOUT using sportsplay, I've found that if you start the server, join and then start the session, many people can't see the server. What I do, is start the server, join and then make at least one other person join the lobby before starting the session.

I think there has also been the odd occasion when the server has been started and no-one can see it, in which case, just re-starting it fixed it.

Something to try if you experience the problem again at least.

How many clients/human opponents have you set? Because laguna can only hold 30, cleveland 32, so if u set it to 32 then u cant use/select laguna

This has happened to us when we have more players assigned/allowed that the track has pit stalls. try lowering the number of drivers. or it could be a server issue.
And, I think you are right about the refueling rules changeing depending on who joins first as admin.
We use a rented server and turn off the user control = 'server controls game' or what ever its called. This way I can set up events and nobody can change them, this is of course for league racing where we are all joining a known event, we do however still have players see things in the settings that are remnants from the last server they join however once the race starts, they do find that the proper settings are in effect. Example is in our league race last week a player asked me why fuel usage was off because that's what he saw in the settings (left over from his last mp session on a public server) but the server was set for normal fuel use & while practicing & in the race he soon found that fuel use was working.:rolleyes:

Hey guys - hopefully someone can shed some light on this minor problem.
I have two rigs LAN'd together via the same router and have setup -sportsplay in Steam. I imagined the ping/latency would be 0-1ms, but it's about 40ms once in-game and racing. If I ping each of the PCs, the time is 0ms, so why does it show 40ms in-game?

Are you using your internal ip or your external ip with the sportsplay parameter?
