When you say the laptime isn't shown in the results file, does it totally not show or is it shown as invalid whilst ingame it shows as being valid?

I do know that the dedi can detect different tracklimits compared to what's shown ingame.

We've been using JustRace and their servermanager, which i believe generates a modified results file to prevent issues with the results/laptimes.

    Hi stealth,

I applied port forwarding to GPBikes and Assetta Corsa and they both work.
Not sure what AMS2 is demanding to be done differently?

The times (and therefore the pilot) are not present in the "sms_stats_data.json" file generated by the server. I can't find a reason for this; it's random, because sometimes the pilot is present but not all the times it has recorded are included. This only started appearing in mid-December; before that, there were no problems like this for four years.

Ok, that's strange, maybe @gian can tell more about this, or investigate the issue, possibly a recent update caused this

Has anyone noticed that the DS doesn't record stats for people that disconnect mid race for whatever reason? For some reason I thought this was fixed last year. Maybe I'm wrong.
If you look in the sms_stats.json file, it's like they were never there. It would be nice if the DS kept a record of folks that disconnected mid race in the results file.
@Dave Stephenson if possible, can this feature be implemented in a future update please?

For us, the DED is not showing the race at all! Last 2 races sms_stats_data.json has P1 and Q but no race ..It was working ok for years but now this random "no race results" issue is showing up ..

I would need to see your json file and ideally the online log file too to know whats going on, im not aware of an issue there.

Ok, thats a valid report, thanks, I can reproduce this bug, it was fixed last year but it seems the fix only applied to the results being displayed in the AMS2 final results screen, somehow its still not working for the results in the sms_stats.json file for the dedi server.

I think thirdy party platforms are using some workaround to display the results of disconnected participants, which isnt ideal.

I think I know what it is, I will check.

yeah I can see in your json file that the race result is missing.

Should be a rare bug otherwise it would be reported widespread by third party platforms, and its the first time i hear about it.

I would need your online log file to try to infer what happened. Nothing comes to mind mind that could have caused it.

Thanks for having a look, Its strange for sure. One time, the results only had one driver: me! lol.
We rent a ded from Emperor servers and have been using it for years now without many issues.
One thing I have been doing is advancing the server from P to Q & R using "Advance session" tab they offer with their software.
    Desktop Screenshot 2026.01.10 - 13.18.32.41.jpg
The 2 times I had issues with the results, I used my 'Android pad' on the server's site 'control panel' to advance the sessions. It all worked as it should, but no race results o_O

The last race we had, the results worked properly. The difference was I alt/tabbed from my game pc to the emperor control panel to use the advance featuere. Don't know if thats anything, as it's still just making calls to the API ?

Anyway It could be something on my end, throwing the server off?..
I was not the HOST either, but I have been in the past, and I was when it only had me, the one driver in the results where we had 13 drivers ...
Emperor offers logs so Next time I will try and grab the log files..;)

I'd really suggest steering clear of the advance session option. It's something that is only available in the default ui via the legacy server view. I've never taken it away in case somebody is relying on it in scripts they ported over in the expectation they have also used it enough to know the limitations but it's not really in a condition for primetime use imo and that's why I have never exposed it in the main default http ui.

In it's current state it will just advance the session rather than 'end the session, and then advance' so you don't get any proper results for that session in game. This may not be a problem if advancing from P to Q for example and why I didn't outright remove it but from Q to R in my testing will result in no formal qualifying results and the grid being set by join order.

During some testing with JR we also isolated some reports of floating cars in the following session to be linked to advancing the session while there are cars on track with those clients being the ones that are visibly incorrect to other drivers.

These are things that are in the roadmap to address so we can provide a proper in-game voting mechanism for advancing sessions (subject to server config) but for the moment I'd advise not relying on the functionailty for any sessions/events that matter and preferably not at all for now.

    Hello,
I could use some help with the linux server. Currently, I am hosting a league with dedicated AC servers on headless linux machines and I am evaluating how to include AM2 into our league races.

I installed "AMS2 - Dedicated Server" on my linux machine with the normal Steam client and try following the UserGuide.pdf. It says I can use steamcmd, or executing the linux binary (which I prefer because I want to run the sever on dedicated machines with minimal software installation),

Unfortunately, the "DedicatedServerCmd.elf" file does not exist on my disk - there is only "DedicatedServerCmd.exe". I already tried deleting everything and verifying the Steam installation.

Is this an known issue? Do you think running AM2 on a dedicated headless linux machine for league will work (as I do now with AC)?

    Thanks, Thomas

I need to update that. I forgot it still referenced it tbh. While I would like to explore it again at some point in the future we don't have native linux binaries at the moment and I can't give you timeline for when that might be.

I do know with certainty that many people in this thread have run it successfully headless under wine. I haven't don eit personally but hopefully one of them might pick up on this and be able to point you in the right direction. The dedi doesn't really have a bunch of external dependencies so I suspect would only need a very basic prefix setup at most

Hi - Just wanted to share a bash script I made to help automate the installation of AMS2 Dedicated Server on Debian/Ubuntu Linux and wine which I've also used to setup AWS servers with a few years ago. Most of it would still be valid and I still host some open lobby servers with using my DRB lua addons.
Side note: I have also recently migrated to Linux (Mint) for gaming and have had to refresh my linux skills somehwat but have everything wotking now for AMS2 including Moza Wheel (BoxFlat app), Simhub, Crewchief running in wine using shared memory remappers and opentrack running in the same proton runtime as AMS2 so it can communicate my head movements back to the game easily.
Anyway here is the file...change file extension to .sh to run.
