So @reiza, what can you propose for modders ?

 

so hi@all
and i drectly switch to theme:
dedi server+mods:

so for example when i join (my) dedi server firstand i choose for example the ford gt lm, all seems to be fine. I can drive the car,others can join, even ppl having the mod insatlled too cann join with it.
But it seems like if i do not choose first, then some...."weird thinhgs" happen.

anything helpful s.o. could tell me here?

dedis are not designed to work with unknown mods.
Fortunately it works in most cases, dependend to the simple server design.
You found the workaround by selecting the mod first yourself
More interresting is: tell us all about what you call weird

 

First, tell me how to set up a dedicated server for a Clio Cup; it would be very interesting.

 

well, there are 2 options/ways to do it, one is by using the server.cfg file, where you enter this as the carid value: 1804422492 and this as the classid value: -1529501352

or set the controlgamesetup value in the server.cfg file to false, that way the first person joining the server can setup the whole session, so pick a car/track, change session settings etc,etc

 

Has there been any chatter about whether track mods will eventually be able to be used again post 1.53?

I think they still work, at least i think i tried Fuji after the update, but will check again tonight

 

I tried reinstalling them yesterday and when I started the game, Steam did a huge update "verifying files", then none of the tracks or cars showed in game. When I removed the tracks, all the cars were there in game.

Maybe there is one which is causing the problem, because I had left one in after the update and it was showing, but after I added the others they all disappeared.

BTW, you shouldn't ask for help for "grey zone" mods in the official forum.
If you have problems, ask in the discords or blogs were you got it.

So...with weird:
When i am not Mr. First one to select, i stil can choose from for example gte* (thats how the icon appears for the modded gte version). So i choose a modded one and then i return back to the lobby overview where i then join the rae itself.
But when i do so, then the car icon, that shows my chosen car, starts to flip/rotate through all car.
It just keeps on switching through all cars and won`t stop.
I can stll join the race but then u never know, which car u then will actually drive.

nope, any class.

 

Using mods can always have weird effects.
e.g. if not all users in the session have the same mods installed.
mod cars have IDs, that are unknown to internal system.
its like you ask some one for a charcter between a to z and he sends you a russian character you never have seen in your life

And now we are not in the "weird section" with this but in the most amazing section as i know, that very few ppl playing on my dedicated have mods installed and still seems to work though...^^

I kinda started using motd to repeatly send some advice that they want to check google for CM, then (par example) find project cars modding page and drag n* drop some nice stuff...^^

What would lead me to antoher question:
Is it worth looking into some sim-synch tools?
So for example i would synch them then to my installed/momentary used mod-tracks/cars?

 

The Radical SSR, LMP900, LMP2 Ginetta, F488 Challenger, Trackday B are not getting the mods that are not working in 1.5.3.5.2458

 

Thanks. I was asking specifically about tracks, and all my tracks seem to work once more.
