Adamo Virtual Motorsport is proud to present our first Automobilista 2 multiplayer event: a track day at the Nürburgring Nordschleife for the 2023 Labour Day weekend! The track day will start at 2:00 PM EDT / 6:00 UTC on Sunday, September 3rd. The server will be set up as an 8 hour practice session with the in-game weather set to "clear" and an in-game start time of 2:00pm local. The session will be fully drop-in / drop out - so you can come and go as you please throughout the day! To make this track day accessible for casual to experienced drivers, we will have damage turned off, we will not restrict any racing aids (traction control, stability control, anti-lock brakes, breaking and turn assists, visible racing line, turn indicators, etc.) and allow gamepad drivers. We may also have AI drivers of varying skill level on track to add flavor and traffic to the session. Automobilista 2 allows up to 10 classes of cars per session. To give a wide variety of vehicles, we will be running the following in-game classes: BMW M1 Pro Car GT Classics GT3 GT4 German Group A Group C Mini JCW UK Super Cars Vintage Touring Cars Tier 1 Vintage Touring Cars Tier 2 To switch between classes and the cars in them, you will need to back out of the server, re-connect, and select a new vehicle before loading in. Thank you to everyone who came out to the track day! We had originally intended to just do the track day for Labour Day weekend internally, but at the last minute we decided to run the session without a password and to post it on the Automobilista Forums and Subreddit. We were surprised to see the session nearly full for most of the 8 hours it ran! We didn't really know if this type of event would be popular in the community or not, and we were reluctant of having it be our first event into Automobilista 2 (we are primarily an iRacing organization). We are extremely happy with how it went. We will be hosting another Nürburgring Nordschleife Track Day on Sunday, November 5th at 1:00pm EST / 6:00pm UTC. We will make a proper announcement the Wednesday prior (November 1st) as a reminder. The setup will be the exact same as this one, and we are considering doing this bi-monthly. Hopefully by then we will have a dedicated server up and be able to increase the player count from 16 to 30+, which would have us utilizing little to no AI as extra traffic. We might also consider hosting different Sprint Series or Championships - primarily with historical vehicles - in the future if there is interest. Be sure to check out our Discord.
