AMS2: The ‘Not-a-Priority Things to Fix’ List

MOZA wheels do not have support for the D-Pad and Confirm/Back/Exit functions like a T300 or G29 have for example. It would be nice to add support for these functions especially as a VR user, just please add bindable functions in the Eddit Assignments in the controls for Confirm, Back, Exit and also menu Up/Down/Left/Right.

 

Rename Engine Braking to Engine Braking Reduction, I think currently it leads to a lot of issues.

 

Or, just invert the numbers so they do what the existing label says. Either is better than the current confusing situation.

 

A minor tweak to the visible cars setting logic: I have it at a generous 28 which works pretty well, but after spinning at the beginning of the pit straight at Watkins Glen (too greedy in the final corner!) with full IMSA roster and facing backwards the oncoming traffic started to appear VERY close to me preventing me from safe rejoining as "clear" track could mean a car approaching fast and appearing suddenly in a relatively close proximity.

I know it's a very niche example that happened during a practice session (so pitlane was busy most of the time), but maybe the logic could be improved to take into the account which way the player's car is facing. Or potentially disable/lower rendering priority for the cars in the pitlane (often invisible from the track anyway as behind the concrete wall on most tracks) so the actual cars that are racing/lapping are always visible or have a higher priority.

 

Something that is minor to fix (if it's a bug at all) is the cheers from the main stands that do not carry throughout the length of the stands. It's very noticeable at Daytona or Le Mans.

Approaching the main stands, the cheers start but it's as if a sound file is played once and for all instead of being repeated until the car reach the end of the stands.

 

Would be nice if 'Boost' and 'DRS' could be mapped to the same button!

In the new F-Hybrid Gen1, the steering column is missing. The steering wheel is floating

 

D-pad compatibility is also poor on the Fanatec CSL McLaren GT3 steering wheel. The FunkySwitch directional controls work by default, but you can't confirm your selection by pressing the center button. I believe it's essential to be able to configure the functions for basic menu navigation, as well as have a third slot for configuring additional hardware devices such as button panels and multiple shifters.

 

It would be cool if the pitlane speed sign displayed the actual value and not the default one of the track.

 

Hi all

the ranking real needs some fix
so unfair you win a race get 2 to 3 points
you get second place lose 6 to 8 points

someone crashes you you loose a ton of points if connection goes down you loose about 20 points

best thing would be to have non points as they dont make nonsense and only have the letter for safety.
its almost impossible to race ranking lobbys
hope they fix it or modify it.

Please change the zoom of trackside cameras so multiple cars are visible. An example is 130R and up to the chicane. I Had an Alonso outside moment followed by an epic 3 wide pass, but couldn't see anything but my own car the entire way. =(
Yes, the models are wonderful and highly detailed, but..

If there are multiple weather slots, during the cooldown lap, the weather reverts to the initial setting when the final car crosses the line.
To reproduce, do a 5 minute race with 2 weathers, e.g. clear and thunderstorm, sync to race, and continue to drive back to the pits on the cooldown lap. The thunderstorm will magically dissappear in an instant.

 

Get a cheap 15 button Macro Keypad off amazon and assign these... I control everything in the menus with it without removing the headset.
A Streamdeck doesn't allow the [right shift] save for the race setup ai/weather menus

 

In solo races, when a yellow flags occurs , the leds panels doesn't works. Yellow and green flags.
Leds panels works only in SC condition and green flags at start.

 

They worked for me at Daytona - Full rain and first corner crash, FCY and yellow led panels all over the track

 

With many cars, the rev counter doesn't "update" frequently enough, making it appear that the rev counter is "ticking". For example Formula Vintage, as you speed up, the rev counter seems to update about once a second, making it behave more like a stopwatch. This is most obvious in the vintage cars, but (presumably) the same effect is noticeable on the Formula USA Gen 1 cars (which have a digital rev counter).

Presumably this is an easy one to change, as in some other cars its completely smooth.

I think FCY is what he means by SC condition. He wants them to work for local yellows too. Apparently this, and even flag marshalls, are on the to do list already though.

 

But this rev counter needle movement is a REALISTIC thing, not a bug. It would be like if someone reported off-set wheel placement as a bug when that is in fact how the cars realistically operated.

In that case I want to report the opposite bug. There are some cars, such as the Retro Gen 1 mcLaren, where the graphics say it's a Smith's Chronometric rev counter, but it doesn't behave like one.
